And so, another Kansas City tradition has been consigned to the dustbin of history as this town loses a great many of those 24 MILLION tourists imagined by City Hall.

TKC BLOG COMMENTS CALLED THIS ONE MONTHS AGO!!! ROCKFEST HAS ABANDONED KANSAS CITY IN FAVOR OF THE SPEEDWAY!!!
KMBC is the first to confirm the news with a bit of an advance ticket sale promo.
More from Fox4: Rockfest Kansas City announced Monday that the 2017 event will be held at Kansas Speedway Saturday, June 3.
Now the questions start . . .
Is this really a big loss given that most of what Rockfest fans buy is meth???
Answer: Yes, it's a big deal . . . Rockfest is the biggest outdoor music festival in Kansas City and kicks off the concert season.
This one has been a long time coming and while the event makes more sense at the Speedway . . . It's another sad day for the local music scene.
However . . . The paltry line-up isn't exactly A-List . . .
The event will feature the following artists:
Godsmack
Sammy Hagar
Volbeat
Halestorm
Ratt
Collective Soul
Buckcherry
P.O.D
Zakk Sabbath
Tom Heifer
Blackberry Smoke
Crobot
Candlebox
Sidwise

Better title: Aggie Stackhaus stays winning!
ReplyDeleteMost of what they buy is Meth. Youz a bastid.
DeleteAgain, go back to the violence! Last year a few rock fest fans got held up at gunpoint. They were targets for thugs and they promoters were wise to respond quickly. It was KC violence that chased away this event and will further decimate KCMo if we don't so something about it.
DeleteGood riddance.
DeleteGood luck selling anything with Godsmack and Sammy Haggar highlighting the show.
LOL at 9:13.
ReplyDeletePENN VALLEY PARK AND THE MEMORIAL STAY WINNING!!! AND NOTHING OF VALUE WAS LOST.
ReplyDeleteWhat a mistake the concert organizers have made!!
ReplyDeleteMayor James' new concert venue in Swope Park could have hosted all of Rockfest at his mile-long picnic table!
Wow so we won't have to resod the park every year. Good.
ReplyDeleteGiven the line up that show needs to be in Branson
ReplyDelete10:04---Given that lineup they should pay people to come.
ReplyDeleteGood. Very few people who actually live in Kansas City want that shit show in town.
ReplyDeleteGreat, now KCK tax payers pick up another tab. We'll look forward to the drugs, trash and traffic. Good one Mayor Rev. Anything for a buck.
ReplyDeleteI thought the streetcar was supposed to *attract* economic development, not chase it to Kansas.
ReplyDeleteYes, well we have all seen that isn't happening, Bryan.
ReplyDeleteNiggles
DeleteBuilding police stations atop residential property was supposed to inspire blacks to work with the police, spur economic development, too. We see that any development happening on the eastside is funded in whole or in part by the City of Kansas City. Not one private business has opted to move on the eastside without some type of public subsidy, grant or is fully funded by taxpayers. So, its nice that hipsters, suburbanites, etc. are catching on. Welcome to Detroit, MI.
ReplyDeleteMovement is fast on all fronts moving to Kansas.
ReplyDeleteInsurance where violence has a track record would be a consideration.
As the airport gets top consideration in being built in Kansas- it will happen soon enough and other economic events will continue to follow.
Too bad Trump saw Sly at the KCI with the protesters. Watch the Federal money follow Brownback and Kansas as Trump knows who his supporters are.
Next time you are at the grocery store- if you wonder what the real businesses think of The City of turned off fountains - grab a Snickers bar. (Insert canned laughter)
Fantastic!
ReplyDeleteThank You Aggie. Even after you left midtown for a pleasant crimefree area you did not forget your responsibility. You finally got rid of those miscreants.
ReplyDeleteDamn border wars!
ReplyDeleteLOL......the Shit Hole of the Plains strikes again.
ReplyDeleteWho gives a flying fuck ? Hagar.......bwaaaaaaaaaa........
Huh, what's a Rockfest?
ReplyDeleteRockfest = 1 mudshark and a room full of boons
ReplyDeletePower of 1/2 million dollar condos
ReplyDeleteGood riddance
