KU MED FIGHTS GUN RIGHTS!!!

Fear vs. Constitutional protections clash at this local teaching hospital that has already trampled over the property rights of their neighbors with a building spree barrage . . . So maybe this will keep them busy in between demolishing neighborhood homes . . . University of Kansas Hospital wants to remain a gun-free zone

  1. KUMED needs this ban. The hospital often gets put on lock-down because of gang shootings. And you should see some of the family members, the employees need protection from them too. They don't need guns on them either. The metal detectors are there for a reason and they need to stay.

    1. Even the thugs who can read choose to ignore the signs ... the only guns they are going to keep out are the ones of law abiding citizens.

How about no guns in the MRI rooms? Compromise?

  2. @6:24..... You realize these are the exact reasons to have a weapon. The hospital has about 100 entrances, there is not security and metal detectors at all of them. The change they seek will keep it just like it is. I think the ER has them permanently, but they still find weapons. Mainly on patients who come by ambulance. I think they lock the main entrance down later in the evenings, and funnel people through them. I don't have any idea how thoroughly they search everyone. Is it a TSA style scanner and xray for belongings. I doubt it. What about the other 90+ entrances? There are no plans to add more as it is cost prohibitive. They state their average response time is 90 seconds. A determined shooter could probably get 70+ shots off with standard magazine reloads unchallenged.

    1. So the doctors, nurses, rt's, all staff should be strapped? While they're working on a patient they should also have one eye up to see if they need to shoot someone? Makes perfect sense.

  3. Sounds like the place is already in the ghetto. Close it and move it to a safe zone. Why would a patient want to come to a hospital that has gang shootings? Fuck that!

  4. thank you 6:53, exactly right!

I go there often for treatment and as a retired cop I don't want to go in there w/o my gun. The hoodrats won't abide by the signs and I should be able to protect myself

  5. 1:26 it's not in the ghetto, actually 39th street is pretty cool. It is however a level 1 trauma center so it gets shootings, bad car wrecks, accidents and such. And it is a quite good hospital, people from all over go there. Maybe you've seen the British kid going there recently. Also maybe do a little research before you spout off.
