In this commentary, Taking Care Of Refugees Is A Moral Duty, Mary Sanchez no doubt means well, but her kneejerk liberal tendency defies logic from her title onward.
ReplyDeleteA "moral duty" by definition generally refers to "that which one owes, and which he ought to perform, but which he is not legally bound to fulfill." This is all within the framework of most religions "good/bad" framework of philosophy and teachings.
In regards to displaced refugees, Ms. Sanchez has fabricated her own guidelines and attempts to impose these upon everyone else. Why would there be a moral duty for Americans or any other nationality to transport a foreign refugee away from their home country or region and assume responsibility for their well-being? Why wouldn't the concerned moral citizen do everything in their power to provide assistance to the refugee in the location closest to their last place of residence? And beyond emergency humanitarian aid to the displaced, shouldn't the effort be focused on ending the conditions which led to the creation of refugees in the first place? Isn't that the logical way to solve this problem? Mary Sanchez obviously doesn't want to discuss the fact that President Obama and Secretaries of State Clinton and Kerry are directly responsible for the ongoing civil war in Syria and the resulting millions of refugees who've been forced to flee their homes.
Unfortunately, logic and Mary Sanchez, seem to have had a falling out years ago and are still not speaking terms.

ReplyDeleteRight there in her first sentence, the reader can see through this Sanchez political spin attack when she writes, "banning travelers from seven Muslim-majority countries." This is another fabrication from the Liberal Democrats who've sworn an oath to oppose all things Trump, in retaliation for crushing their dreams of Queen Hillary. They so wanted a vagina, any vagina would have sufficed, in the Oval Office, because apparently there's some magical glass ceiling in there that needs to be shattered by a hammer-wielding estrogen-secreting goddess. For anyone who actually read the Trump executive order calling for a temporary suspension in current immigration policy to insure proper security measures were in place, there was absolutely no mention of a person's religion. Positively none. Of course, that didn't stop the Liberal Democrats and their cooperating media stooges from repeatedly stating the false claim that the order was specifically aimed at "seven Muslim-majority countries." Fake news? Pathetic unprofessionalism? That would clearly seem to be the case here.
Imagine for a moment that you're the newly appointed public health director for a large Midwestern city. It's been brought to your attention that the public has been put at risk by steakhouses failing to adequately cook meat which has been contaminated in a faulty tenderization process. The local newspaper has even run an investigative series detailing the resulting sickness and death resulting from this oversight. To protect the public, you immediately issue an emergency order to insure that proper meat handling guidelines are in place throughout the local hospitality industry. Apparently, the local media are devout carnivores, as they begin repeating the line that you, the public health director, are unfairly targeting the non-vegetarian restaurants in town. It's a purposeful bastardization of the language by the pro-carnivore media. So, the next time you read or hear the phrase that "President Trump is unfairly targeting seven Muslim-majority countries" , in actuality, he's simply that public health director saying "Where's the beef? Show me the beef!" because he's trying to keep you safe. Do you expect anything less from a man who takes his oath seriously?
