TKC FACT CHECK!!! KANSAS CITY "FAIR" WAGE VOTE WILL COST MORE JOBS!!!

Written by a VERY KIND KANSAS CITY INSIDER with a KICK-ASS SUMMARY OF INFORMATION AND FACTS CONTRADICTING THE KANSAS CITY $15 "FAIR" WAGE FIGHT . . .

Checkit:

(Kudos) Who should get fired first?

The mayor is at it again, with his lapdog the KC Star in full support of economic suicide.

What amazes me how far ahead you in this city's news game.

Instead of pretending to support a minimum wage increase, the mayor should ask, "Who should we fire first?" as Tony's KC pointed out TWO YEARS AGO.

TONY'S KC PROVIDES REAL news with REAL numbers, (as well as good looking women and a great deal of entertainment).

Tony reported in MARCH 2, 2015 the following:

"...a very quick note from the CBO… basically they say that if you raise the minimum wage to $10.10, you’ll lose 500,000 jobs… Link to their report can be found here @ The Congressional Budget Office ."

So with unemployment going up, why would our Mayor say he favors higher minimum wages.

Tony provides the answer again to anyone looking for a motive behind the mayor's most recent comments about increasing things to 15 bucks... Tony reported this back in 2015 as well.

October 24th, 2015 Tony's KC pointed out correctly wrote:

"...The foolish protesters left him [Sly] alone, as he appeared to work to increase their wages. And Sly took ZERO political risk in supporting an increase to the minimum wage that would never happen.

If the mayor really wanted to effect change, he could, without violating the State’s constitution, ask department heads to review all employees and, IF DESERVING, raise their wages. It is entirely within Sly’s authority to push wages higher ANYTIME.

He chose not to do so. "

And, while the mainstream fawns all over the Mayor anytime he opens either side of his mouth, Tony's KC correctly highlights what really happens when politicians mess with the market. July 1, 2015.

ONLY Tony's KC points out the real victims of any hike in the minimum wage.

In his article titled, THE MARKET ALWAYS RESPONDS, he wrote:

"McDonald's, the vast majority of restaurants owned by individual entrepreneurs, is testing Reich's economic theory of what happens when you force individuals to follow a grand scheme based in theory when the world they must operate in is based in reality.

The math is straight forward enough. Replace one employee and save $32,000 annually.

Here are the numbers:

$15 per hour, times 40 hours a week, and 50 working weeks a year is 30,000 annually, before any healthcare benefits. Of course, we must not forget that for each $15 dollars paid, the employee will need to 1.45% in medicare and 6.20% in Social Security. That's another $1.15 in additional wages or about $2,300 annually for a grand total of 32,300 in savings, again, before any health care expense.

You also don't have to worry about sick employees, maternity leave, and a whole host of federal regulations that's stated goal is to help employees, but in fact harm them and only produce more state dependents."

And again in March of 2016 Tony reported:

"I went to a movie last night at AMC at the Ward Parkway Shopping Center.

What caught my attention was that they have removed entirely the ticket booth that previously housed 4 to 5 employees operating the 4 ticket dispensers and 4 cash registers. The ticketing is now done by 7 automated kiosks and one employee offering help to the very few that needed it. It was exceptionally fast and efficient way to get exactly the service I needed."

Tony’s Kansas City is the only place that has warned about the logical consequences of stupid economics and how it can only lead to unemployment of the under-skilled masses that can least afford to lose their job.

Real new reports the fact, not feelings. If the election of the Donald hasn't delivered a the message, perhaps the continual decline in Newspaper subscribers will send a clear message that we are tired of the fake new generated by the Star, parroted by the politicians, and dumped on us like we're too stupid to know better.

Mayor, give it a rest, Tony's had your number for YEARS.

  1. Fly in to Paris airport and step off the plane at Charles De Gaulle International.

You'll quickly see a McDonald's. A McDonald's where the employees make 15 Euro an hour.

The food tastes just as good or better and the total bill is only minimally more.

Why is 15 Euro fine for some French kid flipping burgers but not good enough for our own citizens?

And if you go to McDonald's in Switzerland they make 23 Euro an hour.

  2. The minimum wage is 'zero.' Anything less is a charitable contribution to the employer.

Yet my question, still and again, is "Why is an arrangement between 2 consenting adults any business of government?"

Why are leftists so h3ll bent on forcing government into other people's personal prospects?

  3. 6:08 your figures are very misleading. First off if you look at what they are paid via a google search and that figure is all over the place. Not at what you are claiming. And then read on.

Take Denmark for instance, a fast food worker could be making up to $21 an hour and while that seems like a nice salary they also have about a 55% of what they make taken out in taxes. Hmm all of a sudden not such a hot deal is it. Plus the cost of living is higher in Denmark than here in the United States.

So in short if you're going to post so called wages figures post the whole truth of the matter and not some half ass pie in the sky crap.

  4. Want to raise the wages of non-skilled workers? Reduce competition from other sources of non-skilled labor: immigrants, both legal and illegal. It is axiomatic that when demand (employers who need workers) is constant but supply (the number of workers available) declines, the value (wage) of each unit of supply rises.

  5. So let's pay people meager wages if it means not using a machine to do that work more efficiently? Great argument! Let me dust of the old Rand McNally maps for my next trip & not something more efficient bc jobs!

If you lower the minimum wage to zero, & force everyone to work for nothing, then everyone will have a job.

If an employer can't pay a living wage to his employees, then his company has no value to the community.

10:00, Obama has the highest approval rating of any president in history. He saved us from the last Rethuglican Administration, just as the next Democratic President will save us from this one.

Every time we give rich people everything they want, the economy collapses.

We will soon have an Education Secretary who doesn't believe in public education.
A HUD secretary who doesn't believe in public housing.
An EPA Director who doesn't believe that the EPA has the authority to protect the environment.
An UN Ambassador who doesn't believe in the UN.
An Attorney General who doesn't believe in the Civil Rights Act or the Voting Rights Act.
A son-in-law for a Senior White House Advisor & Special Middle East Envoy.
A daughter for a First Lady.

It's as if he made these choices to deliberately insult the American People.

The Dump is a traitor. Impeachment proceedings should begin Monday morning.

  9. 6:08 I have lived in Europe. You are mixing apples and oranges. thier system of medical care, workers rights, social programs, taxing system and their standard of living is quite a bit more robust than ours. I can tell you that on my first trip to Europe in 1980 beef was the equivalent of 7-11 dollars a pound and gasoline was about 5.50 per gallon. That was over 30 years ago. A typical hotel was over $100.00 While they ran about 30-35 dollars stateside. I doubt anyone in Europe has to fight for the equivalent of $15 where a Big Mac runs the equivalent 7 to 8 dollars dollars. The problem is Americans have less disposable income than almost anywhere in the free world. That situation will not improve if you increase their cost of living and cause business to either fire or fail. There are legitimate pathways to better pay in America and if people are too damn lazy to use them then let the vultures have them. Nothing anywhere says the we get a nanny and a sugar daddy at birth and no one worth their grits can say making it in this world is easy. Either figure it out or do without. Mooching is damn sure not the answer.

Were these the same numbers that said Hillary will win by 12?

  12. So is it better to keep people working for low wages and one day they wake up and the employer has robotized the place over night. Or should we force robotization with demand for high wages?
The future is bleak unless the government starts subsidizing people not corporations! Today we provide Billions in Farm Welfare. We get low food prices and low wages. We export replenishable materials and buy high ticket Japanese autos. Not too bright.

  13. You forget to mention the 25 percent unemployment rate in European countries. The two issues are related

  14. Yes it's the same polls that said Hillary would win by a landslide. CNN did a poll where they ask 1000 people about Obama but wouldn't explain from what area they go those figures from, nor would they say the exact question or choice of answers.

I saw a poll that had a higher than 60% approval rating that Obama was at last going to be out of office.

You can make a poll work almost anyway you want. Just ask the right questions in the right areas and you can get the answers you want to see.

I could go almost anywhere in Johnson County and do a poll on rather of not Byron Funkhouser should continue to receive total disability or should he have been allowed to ever have such based on his record of comments in here and I bet I could get 75% approval that he owns money back and isn't nor should be allowed to have 100% disability.

There are many decent starting paying jobs out there for people to get. The typical Waste Management Garbage Truck Driver salary is $19. Garbage Truck Driver salaries at Waste Management can range from $15-$22. But you have to be able to pass a drug test. Most decent paying jobs require a clean drug test. Last time I hired any help took me two months to hire one man starting at $16 an hour for all the apps I took only 7 people actually showed up for an interview. of those 7, six failed a later drug test. The seventh come to find out was out on bond, 3 time loser for theft. He was going to jail. I dread running help wanted ads due to the extreme amount of time I waste having to deal with them. 'Twas the night before Inauguration and all through the land
Hail to the Chief being practiced by the band
A new president comes in, while another one goes
The best days ahead, as optimism grows
America is back and better than before
As liberty and freedom once again soar
The oval office awaits the next boss and decider
Welcoming a leader who is not a divider
America First is what people seek
Awaiting the thrill of a long winning streak
The U.S. economy on the launch pad
Nationalists rejoice, while the globalists are mad
America’s enemies shake in great fear
Leading from behind will soon disappear
So sit back, relax and enjoy the ride
Because all boats rise during high tide
Great hope abounds to get out of the slump
As the people have chosen President Donald J. Trump
It’s now just beginning, and is far from the end
The time has finally arrived to Make America Great Again!

  16. January 20, 2017 will be the end of an error and the beginning of a new era.
The sucking sound you will be hearing will be President Trump firing up his generator beginning the long overdue draining of the DC swamp of bloated inefficiency, criminal corruption, runaway abuse of power, a nation bound and gagged with regulations, and the brutally tax wasting expensive DC swamp vermin.
The swamp draining will take years. The swamp has grown so large that draining it will not take days, weeks or months, but literally years. We need to give Mr. Trump that kind of time to return fiscal, constitutional, and regulatory sanity to our federal government.
Mr. Trump should begin by putting a freeze on all federal budgets except the Department of Defense. Not only should he freeze all budgets of the bloated Fedzilla, but he should mandate that every federal government department and agency cut their existing budgets by 6 ½% each year for the next four years so that by the end of Mr. Trump’s 1st term, the size of the federal budget will be reduced by 25%.
Let the bloodsucking liberal squawking begin at my common sense proposal. Let them tilt at Fedzilla’s windmills. Meanwhile, let WE THE PEOPLE get back to the issue at hand: draining the DC swamp. ASAP.
