TKC BREAKING AND EXCLUSIVE NEWS!!! RENOWNED JACKSON COUNTY 'MYARTS' PROGRAM CONFRONTS FUNDING CUTS AND COURTHOUSE POLITICAL BLAME GAME!!!

After a litany of tax increasing following the most recent election, a beloved arts program is at the center of a funding fight.

Accordingly . . .

JACKSON COUNTY INSIDERS REVEAL FUNDING CUT FRUSTRATIONS FROM ADVOCATES OF THE MYARTS PROGRAM AND LITTLE SUPPORT FROM ELECTED LEADERS!!!

For those who don't know . . . MyArts is is part of the Jackson County Prosecutor's Arts Initiative through the Anti-Drug Unit of Jackson County. The project has earned praise from throughout the metro and is one of the rare programs that actually has a wide-base of participation from local youth as well.

Accordingly . . .

UPCOMING FUNDING FRUSTRATION STEMS FROM JACKSON COUNTY POLITICAL JOCKEYING BETWIXT THE EXEC'S OFFICE, THE LEGISLATURE AND THE PROSECUTOR!!!

Federal funding is running out and in the rush to find more money to keep this successful program alive . . . None of these three Jackson County interests are willing to step up and take the budget hit . . . Which would require a significant allotment.

Here's a quote on the topic:

"It has been Waites, Burnett and Tarwater's collective baby for over a decade. They were the ones that bought and renovated the current building a few years back on the Independence Square. I was told that Frank White's Chief Of Staff didn't like the program and started the process of trying to cut it a few years back, but knew he could only do so much while Sanders was still the Exec . . ."

For now, behind the scenes our KICK-ASS BLOG COMMUNITY hopes that this post and more pressure on courthouse leaders will help the County get their priorities straight as political power player negotiating has proven ineffective at sustaining something as simple as an after-school painting and crafts program.

  3. The crime in all this is not that the Myarts program will be cut funding, but rather that our local government ever approved funding for this kind of shit to begin with. This lobtard cherry picking of pet projects is exactly what has brought us to being one of the most taxed regions on the country. Let the people decide whether this program survives - just like thousands of others. If they are not that interested then let it die. That is how the world works. We don't need governments trying to spin shit like this into gold

  5. The fact this is even a question show's how screwed-up Jackson County is.

I am sure they will figure something out soon bUT using a successful program as a political hother potato should give us very little respect for the people we put into office.

  6. What's sad is that without any overall plan or philosophy of county government, each and every program request is made ad hoc and on the basis of who you know or can't say no to instead of any merits they might have.
Government by insider dealing, back-slapping, and favor seeking.
    What could possibly go wrong?

  7. The Eastside doesn't need that shit. They need streets without potholes, working traffic lights and trash and snow removal.

Fix up the infrastructure first then work on the touchy feely stuff.

There isn't anything there that can't be done through UMKC Communiversity or Jackson County Parks and Rec.

  8. MYARTS?

Is TKC kidding around? So, I click on the link to learn about this program. Can you say BOONDOGGLE?

Don't get it wrong, I'm all for appreciating the arts, but this program is a taxpayer-financed special interest liberal nanny-state government knows best exercise in stupidity!

What are some of the clues?
    1) sponsored by Jackson County Prosecutor's office...WTF?
    2) a program funded in part by the slush fund known as the COMBAT tax
    3) relies heavily upon federal tax dollars as well...WTF x 2?
    4) serves no purpose which the existing schools, parks and rec, Boy's/Girl's Clubs, Scouting, etc., are perfectly capable of handling
    5) there is NO correlation between the youth participating in this program and a reduction in crime/drug use.
    6) the program is discriminatory in that it uses tax dollars for the benefit of a very small minority of residents
    7) is yet another example of Independence residents receiving more than their fair share of tax dollars from the county

Let the program continue ONLY if they can be self-sustaining.

  9. It was funded by grants they chose to shut it down and I don't think you have correct information on any of your facts.

  10. Frank has been a total unmitigated flop.

  11. How stupid are these people. Frank wants to cut one of the only good things the county has ever done just for political payback?! And doesn't car about the kids being harmed in the process?! What a douche.

  12. Saw some of the myfarts "at risk youth" on the plaza this summer. Quite an exhibition.

This issue is nothing but another bunch of grifters trying to keep their cash flow coming.

  13. Taxpayer subsidies are pretty much legalized extortion these days.

They have to the unessential to take care of business.

    Lol

  14. 12:38, what you saw on the Plaza was actually high level performance art. You Philistine.

  15. MyArts is a nice to good program that has actually helped some people. So of course the county wants to shut it down so it can hand out more kick=back contracts.

  16. Hey ease up we had to pay for Whites Party.

  17. Fuck MyArts! Start a juvenile boot camp program and make the bastards either shape up or kill their funky little asses. What the hell? We now have to pander to the little thugs to keep them clean? This is what happens when pussy men stop playing father and don't come around kicking some serious ass when their kid acts like a punk.

  18. What's funny is that most of these people don't know that the MyArts main campus is in Independence, MO and actually helps a lot of white kids.

Cut your own throats trailer trash. Vote Trump!
