Former Kansas City Dead Tree Media Newsie Saddened Over Dearth Of Vigil Reporting

In a brilliant bit of writing, Jimmy C is just dead wrong.

Fact is, there have been dozens upon dozens of homicide vigils during this bloody year and just because a lot of people came out for a beloved family man who was needlessly slaughtered in KCK doesn't make it any more (or less) important than all of the other killings the metro area has suffered during deadly 2016.

He derides TV coverage which was actually pretty solid and reported the essential details in an effective manner. And, of course, the really captivating part of his post was a photo he lifted from Facebook - A media outlet that is arguably more widely read than any newspaper article would have been.

That's not to say that Fitz doesn't have a point about homicide coverage from the Kansas City Star . . . According to their website, NOBODY HAS BEEN KILLED SO FAR THIS YEAR IN KANSAS CITY.

You decide . . .

  1. The real mystery is why all these Star cast-offs somehow think that they need to post on blogs and social media as though anyone actually cared about their opinions now that they've left the paper.
Just like political candidates who lost elections and still labor under the illusion that the public is hanging on their every word.
Writing opinion may be all that they really know how to do, but once the music stops, they should really look for a chair.

  2. NOOOOOOOOOOO I am a writing expert. An Authority! Although I know literally nothing about anything except how to convince people I do know something by writing well crafted articles and such.

After all I've been to Yale, Harvard, Oxford. So I know!

  3. "Coincidentally" the Star stopped updating the homicide website at the same time they got $50M in tax credits from the government.

  4. Who the hell is Jimmy C and why should I care.

  5. Murder vigils are not news. Because they are a dime a dozen in KC. Just like murders. Your town is a shithole of violence.
