TKC LATE NIGHT DEBATE: KANSAS CITY PROGRESSIVE YOUTH ORGANIZATION (PYO) PROTESTERS CLAIM THEY'RE THE LARGEST 'LEFT ORGANIZATION' IN TOWN!!!

Here's an interesting Kansas City interview from a local hip-hop website going deep undercover with a representative from a local protest group.

There's a lot of anarchist and communist jargon and verbiage but the claim of widespread representation of the local left was the boldest assertion made among this group who have counted among their members that "lady" hilariously accused of slapping a police horse.

Checkit:

Demencha: Kansas City’s Progressive Youth Organization (PYO) Anchor The Local Underground

Money line . . .

"This group, now the largest left org in KC, is somewhat feared and even ostracized by our city’s traditional liberal activist groups. PYO insists that theory and practice are two sides of the same coin and they have mandatory monthly study groups where they discuss and debate ideology. They see less well-educated and less ideological groups as weaker and the shouters of silly and meaningless slogans. They find that the reactionary right holds Gandhianism and pacifism in contempt. Komrade and PYO utilize Marxist-Leninist-Maoist materials to show the weaknesses of the left and the brutal strength of the Capitalist ruling class . . ."

There's some confusion that these are Bernie Bros . . . But the Bernie crowd is a lot more mainstream then this crew.

Still, as Kansas City now is the last major refuge of progressive thought in the Midwest if we're to believe electoral maps . . . This interview was certainly worth a look for the late night.

You decide . . .

  1. That's a bold statement.

I've only seen about a dozen protesters at any of their events.

Then again, maybe that would makes them the largest left organization in Kansas City.

I guess that's not saying much.

    1. Our numbers are over three times that amount. I don't know where you are getting 12 from. Regarding our events, actions, demonstrations etc. our latest action, our Black Friday action, had 50+ people.

We distinguish between left-liberals and the Left. Groups like SUKC, SURJ, 1SKC are a part of that reformist liberal trajectory. The Left are those who have a revolutionary political orientation. Of those, we are the largest by far. We even surpass most left-liberal groups. The only orgs that are reformist bigger than us are SUKC and SURJ. Every other group in KC we are bigger than, and it grows every day.

  3. Pardon me, but, what a FUCKING JOKE!

Let me provide just a few examples:

The title = "Kansas City’s Progressive Youth Organization (PYO) Anchor The Local Underground" What does that even purport to mean? Someone who's truly "underground" would not be part of a group called the PYO.

"Words by Sarge" WTF? Again, what does that mean? Who are you calling Sarge? You're not explaining for the reader who and what you're talking about.

"This interview, post-election 2016, occurred on private property, not yet collectivized by the International Revolutionary Movement. Beverages were served alcoholic and non. The interview between Sarge, Demencha reporter and Komrade (Nom de guerre, pictured left) a member of the Progressive Youth Organization (PYO) a Kansas City-based left org, now the largest in town, that mainly reflects the individual teachings of the interviewee. We started with some juvenilia on the part of this writer, such as masking up for actions or protests." Holy SHIT! I see a Hell of a lot of Bullshit being thrown against the writing wall, and it's not making sense.

Question: What's the difference between these people and little kids who dress up and play super-heroes?

Answer: An adult should know better.

  6. What is the involvement of the Kansas City Atheist Coaltion in all this?

They have a new activism director...a gay former Episcopalian preacher...who I read was taking them in an LGBT direction.

The only problem is, their current leaders seems to confuse wiseassery with profundity.

  7. I'd like to join up!

Will there be punch & pie?

Can I at least get a discount on trans porn?

  8. From looking at their stuff it seems pretty obvious their definitions of left and right are different then most. By "left" I assume they mean revolutionary left, or groups who advocate for revolution against capitalism rather than reform. The revolutionary left here is small compared to places like Chicago and Minneapolis, so maybe they are the biggest. I don't agree with everything these kids believe in, but they seem to have their hearts in the right place and do more than most groups around here.

  9. Today's activist youth is tomorrow's low feeders. Just look at you know who. Send in the buses cart them off to the military and lets see what their perspective is after they learn some values and responsibility.

  12. They must have recently realized that unless there is a revolution that upends society completely, their futures are as baristas and food servers.

For all you know members could be already baristas and food servers, YOU NEED US. do not put us down and continue to go out to eat and buy your fancy coffes. 13. PYO definitely is the largest most diverse left organization in Kansas City now surpassed only by SURJ and SUKC, who are reformists. Also fuck you Tony for your Transphobic shit

    ReplyDelete
  14. Definitely more than a "dozen people" try a few more times that lol. PYO doesn't just organize just for protests but for people power. It's growing it stopped a tuition hike at UMKC that would have affected 9000 people by itself and is gearing for self-defense. The group includes construction workers, students and other marginalized people.

  15. We don't consider Democrats and Liberals to be the "Left". Sorry to disappoint.

    1. You're on the FBI watch list.

All of you revolutionaries are traitors and will never truly understand the consequences to your decision to revolt. Thankfully, others do understand. That's why you're on a watch list for the rest of your life.

      Traitor.

  16. There really isn't any other Left organizations, if there is, let us know. We've been doing work while fucking liberals attack us for not being part of a 2 party system.

  17. FBI watch list.... ohhhh scawwy. When those fed dorks come around we just give them wedgies and take their lunch money and they run off crying.

  18. Give it up, 10:51, they're never going to make you a commissar. The best you're going to get is neighborhood watcher, charged with reporting people whose thoughts are out of sync with the Party.

  19. You terrorists probably set that pipeline fire.

  20. Tony why the need for the transphobia? You were the only reporter or blogger in town giving them a fair shake after the big Trump protest they organized, now you're joining in on the ignorance?

    ReplyDelete
  21. ^^^^ I don't think he's joining in on trans phobia but I do think he might not have much sympathy for someone who smacked a horse.

We we talk about victims of crime, that's a lot different than somebody who marched out into the streets in order to hurt a defenseless animal.

  22. "Komrade" is UMKC grad student Kevin R Bailey. He published a neat little thesis on the history of the IWW in Kansas City. Let the doxxing begin.
