One of top tech employers in Kansas City confronts crisis as Prez-elect Trump carries through on his campaign promises that would decimate their current business model. Recently, TOP ECHELON KANSAS CITY INSIDERS offered an important warning about the future of Cerner amid the Trump years and American populist backlash against multinational corporations.

To wit and given their tumbling stock price . . .

Tech Companies Hate Trump Anti-Immigrant Talk

Anti-immigration rhetoric from Prez-Elect Trump and his supporters take aim at H1B workers on which Cerner relies for a HUGE amount of its programming work.

Wired: Trump's Presidency Could Upend the Way Silicon Valley Works

One more: "It's certain that Silicon Valley is scared about what a Trump-led White House will mean for its growth, particularly at a time when there are real concerns about limiting of H1B-1 Visas."

The untested and debatable economic theory is that an H1B immigration crackdown will help American tech workers. However, the immediate impact of impending H1B restrictions will be a direct assault on Cerner's workforce and a huge spike in production costs. That will hurt their bottom line.

And here's the most important proof that Prez-Elect Trump is quietly killing Cerner:

CERNER JUST HIT A 52-WEEK-LOW AND CRASHED ON NEWS OF TRUMP'S ELECTION!!!

Probably should've mentioned this fact earlier because the story of the stock is simply reflected in the price.

Still, what we've seen here is a local company taking a HUGE hit from the election of Prez Trump. While the proposed reforms of the new Administration look to satisfy their constituency, a multi-national corporation like Cerner and so many Kansas City politicos who have promised jobs and development on their behalf are clearly scared of the future.

The reality is that hope for the economic benefit of the Trails Campus expansion plan in South Kansas City has already been scaled back for the upcoming Trump years.

  1. Fact is, Cerner was never going to save South Kansas City.

    It's a commuter campus.

The employees weren't going to live out there, just jump back on the highway and drive to their homes. It's KC Schools that really hurt out South.

  5. something is up with Cerner. The KC business journal is basically publishing nothing but their advertorial today. The stock price at a yearlong low is the bigger part of the story.

  14. More hype and bullshit courtesy of TKC! Trump has already stated that when Obama care ends the revised health plan will take effect immediately. Does anyone with a healthy mind honestly think the Federal government will throw out computer data and go back to 3x5 cards for national healthcare? Jesus the nutty people and the shit they conjure up with their personal issues.

  16. This company is where it is today because corrupt politians from Kansas crawled into their warm cash filled pockets. If you think the KCK office helped the Legends, pot must be legal in KS. The working slaves of the Big C hardly have time to go to the bathroom. The ones forced to move to the KCK office have felt they were punished. It's all a big lie. The only truths are that O-Care has made some people wealthy and in control of city governments.

  17. Cerner has always been greedy.

They deserve to be cut back by Trump.

I applaud the effort to crackdown on this corporation.
