A quick recap of the political damage suffered by Missouri Democrats last night . . .
Missouri Republican won the Governor's race . . .
Republicans also easily won the Attorney General's Office, Secretary of State And State Treasurer . . . Just like everyone predicted.
The Missouri GOP now controls the State House and Senate . . .
And so . . . Both right to work and paycheck protection are now within the sights of this new SUPER-MAJORITY GOP who have only been thwarted thusfar by a Democratic Party governor.
If there is a bright side or an even brighter side . . . Anti-gun and fair wage fighting from KCMO probably won't earn much consideration.

ReplyDeleteAny Democrats who did win are screwed at the local and national level. Democrats had no voter id's to worry about in Missouri. A lot of people will go without next time. I imagine turnout will be a lot less next election.

ReplyDeleteGoing to guess most of you think of the 1950's as some of the greatest days of America? I would agree it was. You realize a huge percentage of Americans were union members back then right? It helped lead to unparalleled economic prosperity in America. A rising tide raises all ships. Real wages haven't risen since the early 70's in America, including yours. And no, I'm not in a union. Do you realize that if younger generations are all poor it hurts everyone? When you're ready to retire and move to Arizona but there is nobody to buy your home because every 30 year old is still paying off 50,000 in student loan debt you'll see how important it is. Big ticket items like houses and cars make the economy go. Your anger is totally misdirected.
ReplyDeleteUnions stuck together in the making America great decades. How about our NFL, NASCAR, and various #locals members speak up for the GM jobs said to be eliminated soon. If more of those decent paychecks disappear, there's fewer fans to fill stadiums, replace cars, and spread other wealth in our community? More of that third world comes creeping in when the Chambers of Commerce, professional associations, and boardrooms exploit human capitol for piled on profits. Wall St. and Main St. best get it right.
