KANSAS CITY BLOGGER YAEL ABOUHALKAH KILLS COMMENTS ON HIS NEW BLOG!!!

Last week former Kansas City Star columnist said on his public TV appearance that he was attempting to create a conversation with his new blog and just a few days after he turned off comments.

Sadly, he hasn't been attracting much of a crowd anyway but the "conversation" was short lived on his new bloggy effort.

I understand . . . Comments can be a pain and in the years we've been running this blog there are constant trolls, death threats now and then, attempts at bullying and false allegations that are only funny about 1/3rd of the time. And spam. So much spam.

It comes with the territory. From Facebook, to Twitter and yes, even Instagram. EVERY online forum has problems with nasty comments but here at TKC some of the really insightful conversation far outweighs the rantings of the keyboard warriors and a few deletions to clear out comment spam are part of the game.

It's important not to take any of this stuff too seriously and that always seemed like Yael's problem toward the end of his career.

So we challenge this fledgling blogger to find some way to incorporate reader feedback into his work. It's vital to keep writers from feeling isolated . . .Meanwhile . . .

TKC REMAINS THE LAST FREE SPEECH ZONE IN KANSAS CITY!!!

Like it or not, we're the top, sexiest and most KICK-ASS place to talk the news and not just personal drama or stupid questions about local places.

More in a bit . . .

  1. Yes. Spam is bad, whether comment spam or email spam. All political candidates should pledge to not use unsolicited bulk email in their campaigns.

  6. "So when you going to create a real blog Tony instead of google kindergarten platform."

Are you sure you'd be able to cope with something not a kindergarten (sic) platform? It looks like that's when you stopped learning how to use English grammar and punctuation.

  8. Deleting comments is just what got Democrats in trouble.

Echo chambers are not good for anyone. See and hear the truth.

  9. Yael is a relic who couldn't adapt, much like the liberal media who cried and were in disbelief on election night as the results came in. These people actually believed their own shit as well as the polls. Also, if Yael wants to survive, he not only needs to lighten up, he needs serious attention to adding good titty pics to his site. Melissa Debling and Kelly Brooke pics are a must.

  10. We predictably saw this move by Yael from the very beginning.

You see, he has very thin skin. Yael loves to dish out the hate on Brownback, Republicans, most who disagree with his viewpoint. Within days of him starting his blog, he began censoring comments by readers. And he didn't even leave evidence of his dirty work, like leaving behind the statement "this comment has been deleted by administrator." I know for a fact that Yael began deleting multiple comments from those who disagreed with him, and the comments were not profane, threatening, or rude.

It's quite similar to the Ruckus experience in which Yael quit the panel because viewers began asking for alternative opinions, having grown tired of Yael, Gwen, and Mary ranting their Liberal screeds each week.

  11. Yael hates those who disagree with him. Years ago I wrote a letter to the editor and he called me up to yell at me because he disagreed with it. Typical liberal control freak. Freedom is important to them as long as they agree with it. If they don't like sweet soft drinks - outlaw them. But they love dangerous bicycles so they build traffic lanes for cyclists to die on. Don't like guns so they become a "health issue". Love swimming pools even though a lot of children drown in them but they are never a health issue.

  13. Tony, you run a great blog that attracts some great, diverse comments that more than offset the spam and idiots. Keep doing exactly what you're doing.
