TKC EXCLUSIVE QUESTION: WILL UPCOMING RECOMMENDATIONS FROM KANSAS CITY CITIZENS TASK FORCE ON VIOLENCE STOP THE 2016 HOMICIDE SPIKE???

During one of the deadliest years Kansas City has seen in nearly a decide, a committee formed by Mayor Sly James with Council Lady Jolie Justus serving as chair will FINALLY share their findings and suggestions to help stop the bloodshed on local streets.

First and foremost. Here's the info about the big reveal . . .

Citizen's Task Force on Violence
Tuesday, October 25, 2016
6:00pm-8:00pm
414 E 12th Street, 10th Floor Committee Room Kansas City, Missouri 64106

Agenda:

I. Call to order/announcements.
II. There will be a discussion on Task Force recommendations.
III. Adjournment
#######

Now, given that we're at a critical point for this year . . .

WILL THESE RECOMMENDATIONS HELP CURB THE HORRIFIC LEVEL OF HOMICIDES IN KANSAS CITY OR HAS THIS GROUP WASTED TIME AMID AN EXCEPTIONALLY BLOODY YEAR?!?!

Let's not forget that members of this committee have dropped out, called it a joke AND used the group for political purposes mostly focused on gun control and election season pandering. Still, we look forward to their statements after this process has taken a year and continued to convene while more than a hundred murders killing men, women and children were committed during the interim.

You decide . . .

Comments

  1. Of course not. Just another Hillary effort to deny, distract and delay.

  2. The recommendations will include increased public funding for failed programs, more taxpayer money for more "activists", finger-wagging at the Missouri legislature for their gun policies, and the usual drivel about poverty and "lack of jobs".
There will be no mention of parents' responsibilities, personal behaviors, working hard in school, getting and holding a job, or anything else that in any way places the responsibility on the actual causes of the problem.
Same tired excuses and regurgitation of the many failures of the past decades.
    Sad, yet very predictable.

  3. Just another gun grabber group.

  4. What took them so long to make these recommendations? It seems like we could have used more of a focus on violence during August when the killing was really reaching insane proportions.

  5. The Mayor's solution agrees with Hillary = Hand over your guns.

  10. I'd rather engage those who have experienced crime and the willingness to bring about change. Are people on the commission who know anything about criminal activity. Wasted time.

  17. Finally someone speaks the truth!

These officers were there to investigate a hit-and-run crash but instead had to fight with a family of all ages, defend their own lives and nearly had to use deadly force, all because of the disrespect and aggressive lifestyle that was taught from parents to children," Port Barre Police Chief Deon Boudreaux said in a statement.

    Here is Boudreaux's full statement:

"When I arrived on scene, I was met with disrespect not only from adults but from teenagers and preteen children as well. One of the children took his shirt off and approached me in a combative manner and begin cursing me, using very vulgar language which included derogatory and racist remarks. He done this in front of his mother.

There is a parenting problem when children can stand in the presence of their parents cursing, threatening and assaulting police officers and using a racist terms towards others. These officers were there to investigate a hit-and-run crash but instead had to fight with a family of all ages, defend their own lives and nearly had to use deadly force, all because of the disrespect and aggressive lifestyle that was taught from parents to children. Had back up not arrived, had there been deadlier weapons laying around the yard, an officer, a husband, a father, could've lost his life over a hit and run complaint. A 15-year-old young man could have lost his life had it not been for the compassion and restraint by that police officer.

As I watched the police officers body camera videos, I was proud of the police officers' incredible restraint and professionalism but, I felt disgust towards the mother of those children. To see a whole family of adults and children surrounding police officers cursing and disrespecting them and making threats and then assaulting them with anything they can get their hands on, which included the fishing pole, the folding chair and one young man even picked up a bicycle and struck an officer. It's obvious this mother taught her children to disrespect authority and it could have very well cost her the life of one of her children. I find this very disturbing and disgusting. The lack of respect and lack of self-discipline.''
