TKC BREAKING AND EXCLUSIVE NEWS!!! KANSAS CITY STAR AFTERMATH TOUGH TIMES: FORMER COLUMNIST YAEL ABOUHALKAH TAKING DONATIONS!!!
Nobody said Kansas City blogging life was easy.
Accordingly . . . Because we direct most of the traffic to this former columnists fledgling online efforts . . .
OUR TKC BLOG COMMUNITY NOTES THAT FORMER KANSAS CITY STAR COLUMNIST YAEL ABOUHALKAH IS NOW TAKING ONLINE DONATIONS!!!
On his front page and bloggy footer . . .
Some call it crowdfunding others are more skeptical.
The limit is set at $5 to avoid the appearance of impropriety . . . But what it does reveal is that career options after life at the Kansas City Star are extremely limited for some of their highest profile writers. Apparently, not everybody can continue to make headlines and strip club visits like Jason Whitlock.
And speaking of strippers . . . There's nothing wrong at all with crowdfunding or working for tips. Over the course of this blog we've tried more than a few (failed) schemes to achieve profitability and a donation effort was BRIEFLY a part of it. Nowadays, TKC is paid per comment by the Illuminati.
Brief quibble . . . A lot of bloggers work YEARS to get to the point where they ask for donations. Like it or not, TKC knows blogging and this is kind of an arrogant move and a bit of a digital faux pas from the Kansas City blogging noob Yael Abouhalkah.
Nevertheless . . . Tonight we link back to Yael not only in hopes that maybe a few generous souls might donate a fiver to his website but also to offer a chilling look at the future of the Kansas City newspaper game for all those who fear the future of journalism.
You decide . . .
You are a deplorable, TKC.
ReplyDeleteBut I thank you for providing this link.
Yael Abouhalkah has offered years of quality information, commentary and insight over the course of his career. My wife and I and our son will send him a donation. And I offer you NOTHING but contempt for attempting to ridicule this effort.
Have you no shame, sir? At long last, do you have no shame?
You're welcome???
ReplyDeleteIt could be worse. He could be spending all his time on Twitter.
ReplyDeleteOh wait.
Yael, I hear the Show-Me Institute is always looking for a few shills.
ReplyDelete^^^ He doesn't have anywhere near as many readers as Tony. He wouldn't qualify.
ReplyDeleteBwahahahahaahahahahahahaaha!
I can see how a bunch of liberals think it's OK to take money from folks who work for a living. It is, after all, a foundation principle of your manifesto.
ReplyDeleteSomebody forward the link to Gov. Brownback. He totally owes Yael some money.
ReplyDeleteThought that the YAEL guy BITCH was shaft shacked with BYRON in West Africa Virginia ? They must have run out of sheep to shag !
ReplyDeleteMaybe the KCPD Police Chief can hire him to help with his worthless tweets.
ReplyDeleteRE: "Yael Abouhalkah has offered years of quality information, commentary and insight over the course of his career. My wife and I and our son will send him a donation."
ReplyDeleteWhat's that attribution to P.T. Barnum?

FAILED CAN YOU SPARE A DIME BRAH? CADABRA
ReplyDeleteI know that there are some people who are upset that the newspaper gets tax breaks but we need the service and information it provides. We need to start talking about outright piblic funding of the Star because it is to vital for KCMO to go without. Journalism are the 4th estate of our Democracy and we need to make sure they have the tools to do their important work. There would be questions about management but those can be addressed as long as we are committed to making sure Kansas City is never without a watch dog for the punlicensed good.
ReplyDeleteHey 7:34, journalism might be the 4th estate, but defining the KC Star as journalism is a very broad definition. They are merely a reprint service for the NY Times and AP.
ReplyDeleteI will donate one bullet for him to play Russian roulette by himself
ReplyDelete7:39 FTW
ReplyDeletetrying to not watch.
ReplyDelete734
ReplyDeleteThe star doesn't hold anyone accountable
And newspapers are not a government program
Perhaps the star should come out of the closet and just ask the democrat party to add them to they're budget
i will donate ONE McRib to him next month.Crime will be way down and we'll all be happy and kinder to each other.
ReplyDeleteI'm funding those who were butchered by the Star back when the no unemployed tree huggers thought they had power. That karma stuff is a bitch.
ReplyDeleteKC journalism and blogging all suck. Nothing here but slasher entertainment...
ReplyDeleteFuck Sly!
ReplyDeleteAnybody that gives a penny to Yael is a fool. He was the whore for the groups that have made KC a financial basket case. He supported about every tax increase and treated people that opposed the establishment like crap. Let him rot in hell.
ReplyDelete^^^^ THAT^^^^
ReplyDeleteMe thinks that the YAEL guy BITCH was shaft shacked shagging with Sylvester , BYRON UNTIL they are out of their respective goat butt buddies ! Had to come , cum ,back to KILLA CITY youth scholar's to get replacement GROIDS to fit them ¡
ReplyDeleteThe Star and Mr. Y. concerns the past decade was themselves and every scumbag con artist in the metro area. Is it tough paying for healthcare and property taxes out of retirement income Mr. Y? Give yourself a hand for your support the every tax increase and scam development in town. Boo freaking hoo.
ReplyDeleteBeing hated by racists is a GOOD THING!
ReplyDelete"KC journalism and blogging all suck. Nothing here but slasher entertainment..."
ReplyDeleteSo you're here for slasher entertainment I presume.
The sad fact is that the Star hasn't been a very good newspaper for many years and got worse and worse as experienced serious reporters and columnists were let go due to financial reasons.
ReplyDeleteThe metro is now full of former Star employees who desperately band together like the old friends that they are and continue to try to make believe that they are opinion leaders and, what's worse, to badmouth the management of the paper, who is flailing desperately to keep it from sinking completely.
Not many metro residents cared about these people's opinions when they worked for the Star and certainly don't now.
Yael did some good work years ago, but when he decided to be a water carrier for local government instead of a watchdog, and particularly when he became unhealthily mesmerized by Brownback's Kansas like Ahab and the White Whale, his credibility and readability went down the tubes.
Being a "former" anything is pretty tough, but it's past time for these folks to turn the page and get other lives.
Or just go away.
The Chamber of Commerce should be funding Yael's retirement considering he was their PR flack for many years.
ReplyDeleteReally? Go fund Me page? Wow. This is desperate. And sad. And really stupid.
ReplyDeleteI believe he needz a Go F_ _ _ Me site, but he will lube donations to go with it.
ReplyDelete^^^^^Hahaha! My thoughts exactly.
