Recently there has been an uptick in burglaries in and around Hyde Park.
The burglaries listed below are 1st degree burglaries that occurred while the resident was home. An open window even with a screen is an entry point when left unattended.
We ask that the residents remain vigilant by keeping their homes secure at all times and well lit. Also, please call on any suspicious activity. As a resident, you have come to understand what is unusual for your neighborhood.

The reality is that these break-ins are tantamount to home invasions and this crime wave sets the scene for treacherous confrontations betwixt criminals and homeowners . . . Our blog community wants to put this on blast because it has been basically ignored by local news but the story reveals the ongoing KCMO crime wave during a deadly year.

Beautiful homes in hyde park. But they're too dangerous to live in. That's a bad problem Kansas City is facing. Security and safety is not a priority for our leaders.

One only has to see the KCPD pimping it's officers playing basketball with the kids or 2 officers taking a kid to breakfast & school to know there IS no active patrolling in the division where Hyde Park is.
ReplyDeleteSomebody call that other division & see if they can borrow some of that $700,000 grant for a "mini hot spot.
Beautiful homes, nice neighborhood... and ONLY A FEW BLOCKS from Troost, which is a problem that cannot be fixed. Crime will always bleed over this dividing line, and Hype Park will always be there to catch the blood.

being afraid to post anything on the Neighborhood Facebook pages for fear of profiling or even worse being publicly shamed.
Hyde Park Crime is actually pretty low ,but up ticks are expected when a neighborhood association focuses on homes tours ,dead mums and pushing property tax increases to buy more mums and fund a failed homes tour instead of listening to the actual needs of a community.
Hyde Park actually did put up a wall on one of the east west streets at Troost. Don't know if it's still there.

ReplyDeleteHyde park crime is not low!!! If you research trulia most of Hyde park homes are in high crime to highest crime areas. There is a very small part of Hyde Park that is in low to moderate crime areas.
I lived in central Hyde park and my neighbor admitted to watching my house and four other houses get vandalized, and did nothing. Another neighbor admitted to going into an empty house and taking things.
Most incidents that happen in Hyde park are kept quiet!!!! Sad, but it's a really bad area and you can't trust your neighbor, or at least some of them.
Trust me there is plenty of white trash in and around Hyde Park so you definitely can't say it's JUST black people behind all of the crime. I had limited exposure and dealings with white trash pre my Hyde park days. They are worse by far!!! they will not just go away. They will move from one abandoned house to the next, hang out on street corners and drag their trash all over the neighborhood with them. They have the nerve to have pets which is ridiculous because of course they become the neighborhoods problem since they can barely take care of themselves and of course they multiply like roaches because the neighbors and police are so busy policing minorities that the white trash gets by with whatever!!! There isn't a single person that can honestly say I am lying unless they are A) white trash themselves B) in serious denial!!
