TKC BREAKING AND EXCLUSIVE NEWS!!! KANSAS CITY POWER PLAYERS COORDINATE MEAN TWEETS TARGETING AIRPORT TO PROMOTE MULTI-BILLION DOLLAR PLAN!!!

Social media bullying targeting KCI is the strangest Kansas City tactic we've seen recently in order to persuade locals to support a MULTI-BILLION-DOLLAR plan to build a new airport that nobody really wants.

To wit . . .

OUR KICK-ASS TKC BLOG COMMUNITY DEFENDS MCI AMID KANSAS CITY POWER PLAYERS WORKING TOGETHER IN TO PICK ON THE AIRPORT AND CREATE THE ILLUSION OF CONSENSUS!!!

It really is a shame that politicos, power players and consultants are picking on a defenseless airport rather than debating with real people who might have concerns about public voting or loan schemes without the consent of locals.

Take a look . . .

The mean tweet campaign against KCI started in the Summer . . .

Here's Kansas City power player consultant Jon Stephens bad mouthing the airport on Twitter with the help of former City Council pro-development candidate Jared Campbell. There was even a hashtag that didn't catch-on except among local political denizens.

We've already featured Council Lady Jolie pushing the new airport despite more pressing concerns about rampant crime in Midtown Kansas City. But it's worth a second look for Tuesday as she bullies MCI in this Trump disguise:

Fresh find from BRILLIANT TKC BLOG READERS . . .

Streetcar Authority Executive Director Tom Gerend is now aboard the attacks against the Kansas City Airport . . .

Our tipster tells us: "So Streetcar authority bashing airport authority/city hall? Voters haven't voted against airport $$$." Not sure but I think that's a reference to votes against the streetcar and the lack of public input on the airport so far . . . Except to express skepticism about the plans from the Greater KCChamber of Commerce.

For more thoughtful discussion about why we should save the airport . . . Visit Save KCI

For now . . .

WE'D LIKE TO EXPRESS OUR DISGUST AND DISDAIN FOR POLITICOS, POWER PLAYERS, ALONG WITH PAID PUNDITS AND CONSULTANTS PICKING ON AN AIRPORT THAT KANSAS CITY RESIDENTS LOVE SIMPLY TO PROMOTE THEIR STUPID PLAN THAT NOBODY IS BUYING!!!

Also, their social media illusion of grassroots support is not only deceitful but also insults the intelligence of Kansas City voters . . . Which is actually hard to do nowadays.

But I digress . . .

These so-called "progressives" imagine themselves as compassionate people but don't have any problem taunting, humiliating and degrading an innocent airport (along with all the very dedicated and devoted Kansas City residents who work there . . . ) simply to start an incredibly expensive development project they've already admitted is unpopular.

You decide . . .

  1. Jolie should be careful. They say that she wants to run for Mayor and she would make a strong contender for that job. But if she goes back to council she is certainly open for a challenge. She is attentive when pressed but there are a lot of people in Brookside who are unhappy with her and her loyalty for Sly. I haven't seen her vote against him once. That'll be something that comes up later in a reelection campaign if anyone decent decides to run against her.

  2. Of course the streetcar guy is against the airport, public voting on transit has always been much more reasonable than plans from City Hall.

    ReplyDelete
  3. The airport is kinda bleak but it works perfectly.

I think the public would like to hear more about improvements and not just building something new to make the Chamber happy.

  4. All Aboard must be a theme with Jolie. I hear that's what her tramp stamp says.

    ReplyDelete
  5. Not a fan of Jolie but the airport isn't great either. It's outdated like the Joco courthouse.

    ReplyDelete
  6. There is nothing in these Twitter complaints that cannot be fixed today with existing airport funds. Want more bathrooms? Add them. You don't need a new airport to build a bathroom. Airport dark? Improve lighting and paint it a lighter color.

    ReplyDelete
  7. TSA is the real problem. New airport isn't gonna fix that, just give us a billion dollar facility with more long TSA lines. That is exactly what happened at LaGuardia in NYC.

    ReplyDelete
  8. If KCi reopened all the bathrooms it closed there would be no lines. They ordered some of the bathrooms to be closed and no longer keept in good repair to make the public think the airport is in worse shape than it is.

    ReplyDelete
  9. Keep up the airport we have and stop all this new airport nonsense.

    ReplyDelete
  10. The bathrooms are the responsibility of the airlines they lease the airport from the city. They are just trying to create a problem.

    ReplyDelete
  11. Ever been to Kauffman Stadium? Arrowhead? Taxpayers spent $500,000,000 on those stadiums and guess what? Lines 20 deep even for the men's room. Build a new airport and their will still be lines because bathrooms don't generate revenue.

    ReplyDelete
  12. Local construction companies must have visited City Hall with guns and baseball bats during a reminder of just who is boss meeting recently.

Since these firms can't get a government bailout like the banks and finance firms that makes sense.

    ReplyDelete
  13. My mother taught us to go before we left home. I remember going to stadiums, movie theaters, and other public gatherings. She would tell us that there were no bathrooms and nothing to eat or drink, and we believed her. I guess it was easier than taking the whole tribe to the bathroom and cheaper than buying us all overpriced food and drinks. When are we gonna have enough of these "beautiful people" who want to spend our money? I want my mom back!

  14. About the only thing this proves is that they're talking about progress and moving the city forward...

...and you, as usual, still want it to be 1975.

Have fun, Tony. No one is looking for your approval or disapproval anymore.

    ReplyDelete
  15. But by all keans keep fucking arguing about bathrooms.

    ReplyDelete
  16. We need a new airport to accommodate all the tourists flying in from all over this and other worlds to see the new streetcar.

    ReplyDelete
  17. I don't see a problem.the last few times ive flown out of KCI.

I found that both dumps i took were no-wait & highly satisfying experiences

Matter of fact ,I don't recall having a more stress-free bowel movement at

any airport..Thats's all im in there to do & it certainly is a pleasent place

to pinch one off..What's the problem ,folk's ?

    ReplyDelete
  18. That makes the wait at KCI for a bathroom roughly the same as the wait for the police to respond. This has to be one of the more ethically challenged City Halls in recorded history.

    ReplyDelete
  19. How in the HELL did Pat Klien become the aviation director???? Zero, zero experience and zero qualifications. Schulte should be FIRED.

    ReplyDelete
  20. So I am supposed to get my voter information on twitter from some PR whores or a drunk lesbian? How's that working out for you KC?

    ReplyDelete
  21. Want to "fix" the airport without spending BILLIONS and losing the convenience that KCI provides?

    1. Reopen Terminal A and relocate either Southwest or Delta (the two largest volume carriers at KCI) to the reopened terminal. Terminal A was closed, and Delta and Southwest located beside each other in Terminal B, specifically to create the crowds currently seen in an obvious attempt to garner support for a new facility.

    2. Renovate the existing terminals to address the relatively MINOR maintenance issues and provide a little more space. By reopening Terminal A and reapportioning carrier gates based upon current and likely future traffic counts, there should be more than sufficient room to accomplish realistic goals.

    3. Should step #2 above be deemed not sufficient, explore alternate solutions for more major renovations to the existing facilities (such as Crawford's plan).

  22. As we've previously revealed in this space multiple times, Jon Stephens is nothing more than a PAID WHORE of an ASSHOLE.

Recall that Stephens was Cordish's boy for the Power and Light District. You know, that boondoggle of a project that financially guaranteed KCMO taxpayer funds to the Cordish developers of Baltimore. Every year, and for years to come, KCMO taxpayers get ROYALLY REAMED for MILLIONS of dollars.

Cordish and their affiliates, and Stephens, have given generous campaign contributions (BRIBES) to Sylvester James.

Every time Jon Stephens has appeared on Ruckus, he kisses the ass of Mayor James, the Chamber of Commerce, and Downtown Council. But he has NEVER disclosed his business dealings with them or Cordish.

Jon Stephens, of Kansas = DISREPUTABLE

  24. IDK, I've never been against a new airport. I'm just against raising taxes to get it. We have a 40+ year old airport. The population has grown and flying needs have changed over the years. I fly a fair amount. Not nearly as much as some but I book a fair number of flights per year thru KCI. I just know at times once you get through security the number of people in the "holding tanks" can make for an uncomfortable wait for your plane.

Just recently had a flight with American. Once I got thru security I had to wait in line for 30 minutes to get a bottle of water and something to eat at Starbucks. Then once I got my bottle of water finding a place to sit while waiting on my plane was near impossible due to the sheer number of people.

Now, I get that's more of an inconvenience than it is a real issue. But that inconvenience is only going to get worse as the population of the metro grows.

Not saying we need the huge airport shopping malls that you see in places like Denver and such (although those are nice) with shopping and dining beyond security. But it is getting to the point where the current terminals we have are getting more and more uncomfortable. I reference Denver International, once you get past security there are multitude of shopping, drinking and lounging options and places to sit.

I'd be willing to give up the convenience of parking at the curb and walking 100 feet to the gate if it nets us more room and options inside the airport.

I'm just 100% not in favor of raising taxes or putting tax dollars at risk for it in any way. If there's federal money out there to pair with some kind of small airline/user fee, that would be more reasonable.

  25. Pfffft! The movers and shakers have nothing to worry about. The peckerwoods of KC will sit on their asses and hand the prize to the power players without the slightest resistance.

    ReplyDelete
  26. Don't u corndogs get it?
If they get the airport approved it releases $$$ so they can skim off the top, put the money elsewhere, friends pockets, supporter pockets, construction company supporters, and anywhere else they need it in the city. It's the only way they can access the flush airport enterprise fund under legal guise.
The Aviation Dept is loaded with $$$!

  28. Were at a point in the country that all governments are spending so much money that it can't be stopped. All you can do is wait for it to all collapse. Because that's what's coming
There is always a point in every countries history when that country has spent itself into oblivian
There us only so much money you can take from the people, then you print so much money that it becomes worthless. Just like Germany after WWII
