What this and similar articles lack is statistical rankings of accidental deaths and their causes. A death of a child is a terrible thing. But by concentrating on the politics of handguns, these articles do a disservice to the reading public.
ReplyDeleteHow many non blacks were involved???
ReplyDeleteFirst off 3 of these "children" were teens and I would bet the killings were not accidental. Second how many children drowned in back yard swimming pools? How many were killed on bicycles? I would guess there were a lot of children if defined as under 18 killed in auto or motorcycle accidents. All of these accidents were a tragedy and should have been prevented but the politicians don't care about the children, they just want more gun laws. If they cared about children they would outlaw swimming pools and bicycles which would save more children's lives than gun laws.
ReplyDeleteHow many are killed because the driver was texting? I can guarantee it was more than in DUIs and alcohol related accidents. How many adult gun owners were prosecuted for leaving guns unsecure and accessible to kids? Yeah Zero or near it! So why don't pundits bitch when their political puppets don't do their part of the job?
ReplyDeleteI would also guess most of the children killed in gun accidents are killed with guns belonging to felons. So we expect a felon who is violating the law by even having a gun would suddenly obey another law?
ReplyDeleteWell they sure don't have to worry about enforcement in these parts.
