And once again our blog community has been proven correct as growing Kansas City violence impacts the toy train streetcar line . . .

GUNFIRE CONFRONTATION ALONG THE STREETCAR ROUTE SHUT DOWN THE STREETCAR LAST NIGHT!!!

A description of the altercation that took place near the most dangerous part of the route and where the hobos usually catch a ride around the 400 block of Grand Avenue:

"Police say 911 call was a disturbance for a man "beating his girlfriend", say suspect had sharp object. Police say man has at least 2 gunshot wounds and was shot because he didn't comply with commands."

"The Kansas City Streetcar isn’t currently running as officers secure and investigate the scene." Thankfully, this morning the toy train is currently back online.

And so . . .

This town's cycle of violence continues to impact every aspect of local life and not even this town's prized transit line is safe.

  3. Listen. There is violence in every city and there are often violent situations on the bus line. Rather than hiding from this problem. Let's look at better ways to deal with it.

The police were doing their job in protecting this woman. But need to get to a place where a man beating his girlfriend in public isn't the norm.

    1. Stop watching tv. You have been endoctrinated to the point of idiocracy.

  4. Since when shooting somebody because they did not comply with commands justified. Once again a taser or some other nonlethal force was warranted. Police are pussies...the rank, odor-laced and diseased kind.

    2. How about we just shoot nerf guns at the bad guys? That'll stop 'em in their tracks! "Once again a taser or some other nonlethal force was warranted." And you know this because...Of your extensive law enforcement training, your extensive military/law enforcement experience, you read a Joseph Wambaugh book??? Wait, I know, you're an expert gamer and your vast knowledge of such things was gained by hours spent in mommy's basement playing any number of shoot 'em up video games. Sweetie, please stick with that activity and let the adults handle the real issues of the day. You are beyond stupid.

    3. The witness that fox 4 has on their story said that he was about five feet from the officer. If he did present a weapon and advanced there is no reaction time but that if sudden defense

KCPD = obey commands or die!

I guess we're defending the streetcar till the death, then.

  14. KCPD = don't move towards me with a weapon!

  15. Ryan Stokes didn't have a gun when he was shot by KCPD.

They said he did but they never showed it as evidence.

We need a citizen review board of all police shootings. We must hold law enforcement accountable for their actions. It is our right and responsibility as voters to demand checks and balances against police abuse of authority. Our residents should not be shot dead on the streets without serious questions to the perpetrator of violence in every circumstance, even if the shooter is a member of the police force.

If we don't stand up for our rights, we don't deserve them!

    1. No citizen's review board necessary; you wouldn't have a clue where to begin or how to be objective about the facts, whatever they may be. Start holding yourselves accountable by obeying laws and doing what is asked of you by those who are trained and committed to protect YOU...no matter who you are, where you live, or whether or not you "like" the police.

    2. You have about as much chance of a citizen review board as you do of being a productive member of society. The citizen review board is called a prosecutors office or a grand jury. Find a single scrap of law that allows for what you are calling for. If city's ever getnone they will burn to the ground. Officers wouldn't do a damn thing in fear of being tried by a loaded panel.

  16. It is not about commands. It is about presenting the opportunity to eliminate a threat by having the guy with the weapon drop it, thereby eliminating the threat of death or grievous bodily harm. If you want to be a threat after you are warned then ya better know how to play a fucking harp 'cause your shit filled soul is going on a trip.

  22. I trust we learn a lesson from all this mayhem...and the attempts of "journalists" to justify it: you can not assimilate Africans-in-America into civilized society. No matter how many civil rights you grant them, no matter how many "black studies" programs a university will gin up, no matter how many (White) taxpayer dollars you fork over to their outstretched begging bowls...Africans-in-America will not only run amok but then have their agitprop machinery demand even more.

It is time we end this insane experiment at "equality." Africans-in-America can be judged by the content of their behavior for the last five decades: the Long Hot Summer Riots; the gangbanger driveby shootings; the "space to destroy;" the wildings assaulting citizens on the streets. Africans-in-America are found wanting in the most basic of civilized standards.

Of course, prior generations of White people understood this reality. Which is why you had segregation, sundown towns and the election of the Bull Conners. Get rid of these things, and you end up with Africa in America.
