Missouri Senator Roy Blunt: "I don’t think there are going to be very many Donald Trump-Jason Kander voters"

I spoke to Blunt by phone yesterday. He was curt and unnecessarily demanding like the pre-madonna that he is. It's past time for him to retire. I look forward to Kander beating the socks off that old, tired Roy Blunt. His useful days have expired.

ReplyDeleteKander's primary point of attack has been to criticize not Senator Blunt for lobbying, but his wife and children. This is a low blow, and beneath the rules observed by most candidates. Kander's behavior is part of why so many people tune out of voting. But the biggest hypocrisy is that Jason Kander's very wife has been a lobbyist!
Jason Kander loves to talk about his military service in Afghanistan. It's just that he doesn't tell the truth! According to Kander, after 9/11 he was so outraged that he joined the military, trained, and served in combat in Afghanistan. In reality, after 9/11 he finished college and then completed 3 years of law school....THEN he served a year or less in Afghanistan. He looked at financial corruption, paperwork, in Afghanistan. He sure loves showing you photos of him posing with his guns though!
We applaud all veterans for their service, but find it odd that politician Kander has nothing to say about his political service and reaches back 10+ years to his brief time in Afghanistan for campaign commercial fodder.

ReplyDeleteThis is total bullshit. Blunt's family being lobbyists is fair game--especially when Blunt's votes have been beneficial to companies his family lobbies for. Equally fair is Kander's wife's lobbying. As for nasty--how about the ads saying Kander's "fresh face" is really Nancy Pelosi, Hillary Clinton, etc.? What could really be nasty and to Kander's credit, he's not taken such a low road, would be Matt Blunt's extracurricular activities.

ReplyDeleteThis is anecdotal but I have noticed a trend with many voters in Missouri where they vote democrat for one office and then republican for another. A lot of people believe that there needs to exist a balance between the executive and legislative branch as opposed to voting a specific party. Another trend I have noticed is that Missourians want fresh faces in Washington. That is definitely Trump and Kander. Not to say Blunt is completely off base (he probably has solid internal polling and I just have anecdotal evidence) but it would not surprise me if many Missouri voters want a combination of balance of power and fresh faces in Washington and decide to vote Trump and Kander.

I am voting for Blunt bUT only because Kander is a Democrat. If he would have run as a Republican in the primary I would have been happy to vote for him.

Kander will fool plenty of people in St. Louis and Kansas City, but the rest of the state (especially rural) knows this guy is a Liberal Hillary-Obama lover!

Blunt wins with 64 percent of the vote.
I'm voting for Trump but I never liked Roy Blunt. Kander is not the type of man I want replacing him. Hopefully the Dems will run someone better next time.

ReplyDeleteBlunt is exactly the type of swamp creature that needs to be removed from Washington. He's been a member of the majority GOP leadership that has added more debt than both Obama and Bush combined. Since 1997 when Blunt was first sent to Congress, he has voted on budgets to increase the debt from $5 trillion to nearly $20 trillion.
Trump is also promising term limits. 20 years in congress is already too long without adding another 6 year term. Why wait for Trump? The voters should impose their own term limit on November 8th and send Blunt home.
If voters are sick of the status quo and are sending Trump to Washington to blow up the system, then removing Blunt from the Senate is the first thing Missouri can do to start dismantling the entitled majority GOP establishment.
