  2. This task force is still going?? I really thought it was a just a city hall practical joke, kind of like the water dept. task force.

  3. The 19-member task force, which includes elected officials, professionals, social service workers, clergy, educators and others, was formed last November and has hosted a series of listening sessions and other meetings around the city. It is supposed to complete its work next month.

Wait? A task force on crime and they wouldn't include the police? What a joke

  4. They are probably writing some type of report recommending a sales tax increase to fund any number of worthless new programs.

  5. We need a task force to study how to stop rain from being wet.

  6. When your heart is not in the right place, these are the results. Elitist pumping their chest declaring the incidence of murder solved just because the assembled is the quintessential definition of "hot air". Bullshit increased by more bullshit is still bullshit.

  7. Lock up the nogs? Problem solved.

  8. We are living in a country where median time served for violent felonies is as follows:

    Murder: Less than 7 years

    Rape: Less than 3.5 years

    Robbery: Right at 1.5 years

    Other Violent Felonies: 16 months

With this kind of situation why wouldn't murder and violent felony crime be out of control? So ponder the question, "What have we been doing about crime?", and the answer is, "Damn near nothing".

  9. here, i'll solve the homicide problem. lock up bad guy. stop giving bad guy 5 or 6 strikes. stop giving bad guy with 5 or 6 strikes a bond. stop giving bad guy with 5 or 6 strikes probation. stop giving bad guy with 5 or 6 strikes double probation. stop giving bad guy with 5 or strikes triple probation.

see the pattern? STOP f'n repeating it!!!

Stop & Frisk has been ruled unconstitutional because it amounts to racial profiling.

Since you now have a law that allows everyone to carry a weapon without a permit, what would really be the point?

African Americans have constitutional rights, too, whether you like it or not.

  14. I have been in Kansas City 35 years and I have never been as angry with city government as I have been for the past 10 or 15 of those years.
This crime commission in particular has all of the WRONG people on it. Totally ignorant or unwilling to acknowledge the severity of the problems plaguing the general population and what to do about it. Totally self serving little bastards, especially Justice. We live within blocks of each other and I will tell you that I am especially disgusted with her.
She has to be deaf, dumb, and bind not to understand first hand what is going on in our neighborhood.
I suggest that the commission hold their meetings outside at 3 a.m. With NO police protection.
At 38th and main. Walgreens parking lot. Cleaver and the Paseo. Independence Avenue ( pick any block ). Anywhere East of Troost to I-435 from the river to Kansas Citys southern boundaries.
Broadway just north of Wesport Rd. The parking lots of any and all of gas stations that are open all night. Harrison and Linwood. 39th St. from main to Broadway. ( maybe you would want the police for this one )
A wonderful place to meet and greet would be on the veranda of the Santa Maria apartments!. The front walk of the Alcazar.
Or, how could I forget these other charming locations. ANY dark street corner or alley in Midtown.
Now remember ladies and gentlemen of the crime commission. Hold you meetings after dark, outside, and without Police protection.
( Having the police around would limit your chances for having interesting and informal personal interaction with certain in the know 'classes' of our citizens ).
I somehow do not think Botello would mind you publishing your findings on his blog. If I am wrong........I apologize, Tony.

    2. And please feel free to congregate on any porch along Warwick, Paseo, Main, Prospect, Brookside Blvd, Month all 39th st, Independence Ave, etc. No Kevlar vest, no calling 911.
And be sure to exhort us to vote for Combat in Jackson County. It is working well!

Problem is that this is patently false. We lock up more people for longer than any other nation by far.

Tired of kids being killed? Tired of other kids being led off in handcuffs to spend LIFE (not just 7 years, fool) in prison? If you want to be safer find the guns in your house and go toss them in Troost Lake (Loose Park Lake is too shallow). If we fill it with guns, we will all be safer.
