Kansas City Police Provide Safety Light Freebies For First Friday

Given that nobody's going to be looking at art on Kansas City First Friday . . . Here's a resource for safe and better people watching . . .

Kansas City asking citizens to “Glow Before You Go”

"With the end of daylight saving time just around the corner, the City is encouraging residents to be safe when out and about after dark. Kansas City’s Public Works department is leading the “Glow Before You Go” campaign to remind pedestrians and bicyclists that they must be seen to be safe.

‘Glow Before You Go’ will visit First Fridays in the Crossroads Art District on Oct. 7 at 5 p.m. A booth with safety information and giveaways will be set up at Keller Williams Skyline Reality, 1724 S. Main St., and the Art and Bike Clubhouse at 512 E. 18th St. Roving cyclists, including KCPD Downtown Bike Patrol officers, will also distribute safety lights.

To learn more about ‘Glow Before You Go’ and for additional tips on how to stay safe when traveling at night, visit www.kcmo.gov/glow."

  1. This is a joke right?

Crime at a all time high and the city is more worried about rather you glow in the dark or not.

What is Sly going to demand next, no guns along with everyone being required to wear either day-glow orange or chartreuse-green when out at night?
