KANSAS CITY DESCENT INTO DEADLY CRIME CHAOS: HOW DID WE GET HERE???
The Kansas City murder rate is speeding to the century mark this year and our reputation as a high crime city is now backed up by statistical data.
This juxtaposition from national law enforcement and the FBI is one of the most important for 2016:
KCTV5: Kansas City, along with Chicago, Houston, Washington D.C., Milwaukee, Philadelphia, and Baltimore, were largely responsible for the national increase in crime.
Accordingly . . .
RESIDENTS DON'T LIKE TO THINK OF KANSAS CITY AS A HIGH CRIME METROPOLIS BUT THE DATA REVEALS THAT OUR RATE OF KILLING RANKS US AMONG THE NATION'S WORST PLACES!!!
We've known this for quite some time and now more locals are starting to catch on . . . But the story doesn't stop there and a real understanding of this issue is important if there is any hope of turning the tide. More than any other city on this list . . . Kansas City has the best chance to separate from the bad company of these killer cities.
But first . . .
HOW DID CRIME/HOMICIDE GET SO BAD IN KANSAS CITY???
We all have our theories but the one that stands out the most and starts this conversation is a word from the KCPD Chief who often equates rising crime with social unrest. That theory has its merits but we'd like to suggest a more hard line analysis . . .
THE ROOTS OF KANSAS CITY CRIME LIE IN POLITICAL CORRUPTION
Believe it or not, most criminals aren't completely stupid and there's little incentive for these folks to behave when our local leadership is comprised almost completely of greedy, conflicted and deceitful elected officials, consultants and political denizens.
But it goes beyond mere public perception . . .
Kansas City corruption has focused civic priorities mainly on money generating schemes for the politically connected while public safety funding and support for police is derided and attacked by these very same people.
In Kansas City the priority for most of our leaders is making their friends and supporters rich . . . Keeping this town safe isn't even a secondary concern.
Corporate patronage props up laughably unqualified politicos who would otherwise be thrown out of office if not for a constant barrage of public relations hype supported by this very same corporate welfare machine. All of that support for this town's favorite politicos has been purchased by directing taxpayer funds in the right direction. This technique is perfectly legal in most instances and when it's not, the judges and legal structure of this town is part of the same systemic FAIL . . .
Which leads us too . . .
The Broken Down Jackson County Legal System Begets Worsening Deadly Crime
Police regularly lock up criminals who walk out of a revolving door days later in Kansas City.
Want to know why there isn't a lot of community cooperation with police??? It's not because of rap music, video games or t-shirts, it's because criminals don't stay locked up for long in this town.
In some ways, KCMO brings this on itself as felony forgiveness, early release and criminal record expungement are the battle cries of so many social justice warriors who are being paid, reinforced and manipulated to support a twisted logic that actually endangers the communities for which they claim to advocate.
Finally . . .
City Hall Gun Control Crackdown Is A Symptom Of FAILED Fight Against Crime
They say that prayer is the last refuge of a scoundrel . . . Similarly, unconstitutional gun control efforts are the last ditch hallmark of politicos who are so bereft of ideas that they would maliciously sacrifice American freedom for the illusion of security and end up with neither.
Also, blaming guns takes the blame off criminals, prosecutors, judges and politicos who lobby for their release and instead casts doubt upon lawful gun owners for the very crime which threatens their existence.
What's worse is that so many minority politicos are complicit in disarming their communities and leaving people THEIR OWN PEOPLE defenseless.
When all else has failed: The most despicable Kansas City politicos blame guns for all of their problems.
Sadly, all of these factors have led Kansas City to our current ranking as one of the most violence places in the nation right now.
Unlike the political elite or the mainstream media . . . We encourage genuine comments and discussion of these ideas and hope that new theories and solutions will arise. Moreover, it's our hope that a few honest responses might enlighten our blog community as to how to turn this horrific situation around.
