Believe it or not, most criminals aren't completely stupid and there's little incentive for these folks to behave when our local leadership is comprised almost completely of greedy, conflicted and deceitful elected officials, consultants and political denizens.
But it goes beyond mere public perception . . .
Kansas City corruption has focused civic priorities mainly on money generating schemes for the politically connected while public safety funding and support for police is derided and attacked by these very same people.
In Kansas City the priority for most of our leaders is making their friends and supporters rich . . . Keeping this town safe isn't even a secondary concern.
Corporate patronage props up laughably unqualified politicos who would otherwise be thrown out of office if not for a constant barrage of public relations hype supported by this very same corporate welfare machine. All of that support for this town's favorite politicos has been purchased by directing taxpayer funds in the right direction. This technique is perfectly legal in most instances and when it's not, the judges and legal structure of this town is part of the same systemic FAIL . . .

In reading and seeing what i am seeing here. Maybe it's time to leave ol' KC for good. I grew up in mid town over by troost and moved out to south kc in the 70's. Saw that area go bad in the late 80's and now see the element trying to move north. This town needs a guiliani in charge to clean it up. That will never happen though because the low life's love living like pigs all the while getting their gov'mint money. That's why they elect the crooks they do. They could give one shit what they're doing in their city halls, all about the benies. I mean look at Detoilet, Washington D.C. Chicago and all the others.
