The Kansas City Convention Hotel isn't dead . . . At least according to those with a financial interest in the project. Meanwhile, City Council remains skeptical.
Contradicting reports from TKC FIRST, KSHB and then The Star . . . Here's an optimistic take from the Biz Journal . . . With respect to students of history who will also remember so many defeated military leaders claiming that they would also restart in the Spring.

KC Biz Journal: Convention hotel developer predicts spring groundbreaking
More . . .
"Developers of the proposed $311 million, 800-room Hyatt convention headquarters hotel said concerns that the project wouldn't get off the ground have been greatly exaggerated. Three members of KC Hotel Developers LLC were present Wednesday as the Tax Increment Financing Commission of Kansas City voted 9-2 to approve a redevelopment agreement — the final step in the government approval process for the project."
Developing . . . ?
Rapidly approaching in celestial helicopter taxpayer money proportions!
ReplyDeleteI hope they build it.
ReplyDeleteBut why should Kansas City have to guarantee their profits?
Probably will be very much successfully finished and be a Makin the shit ton of cash , especially if they have a TRANNY BITCHES love bar THERE , JUST LIKE the one that is on the Plaza ! !¡
ReplyDeleteThere is a glut of hotels already. KC doesn't need to finance more for the Mayor's friends.
ReplyDelete"greatly exaggerated"
ReplyDeleteHEY TONIE HE MENTIONED YOU!!!
^^^ A true Burke believer.
ReplyDeleteThis is just another project Mike Burke didn't get build. Does anyone remember Renaissance North??
Corporate welfare Kansas City
ReplyDeleteJust a stalling tactic. They don't have the investors. I don't know what good it does to keep making promises, I'm glad the city council gave them a one year deadline.
ReplyDeleteWe'll get'em next year, champ!
ReplyDeleteHas the hotel been declared blighted already?
ReplyDeleteVery sad that you are shutting down the voice of us that wants a TRANNY BITCHES love bar by the NEW hotel ?
ReplyDeleteLol, I can hear your voices loud and clear. Kc is screwed.
DeleteBut why are "those with a financial interest" in a new hotel going before the TIF Commission looking for public dollars?
ReplyDeleteCould it be because no one in the private sector with any sense will touch this white elephant with a forty-foot pole?
Spring will be a perfect time for some nice under-the-table behind-closed-doors dealing on this.
The airport project will have become the latest distraction.
KCMO: If you can make it here, you'll make it anywhere!
Hahahahahahahaha!!
Burke has been saying the same thing for over 3 years! Check the backgrounds of his so called investors...very sketchy!!
ReplyDeleteThis thing never gets built!!!
^^^ Fact right here.
ReplyDeleteLook for some "we are so close we just need a little more support from the city to make it work".
