Practically all issues are being ignored this time around as the campaign (including at the Senate and gubernatorial levels in Missouri) has devolved into a race in which each candidate is spending a fortune highlighting how evil his/her opponent is.

Perhaps because politicians have been talking about poverty since Lyndon Johnson declared war on it. That war has created generations of dependency that will not go away. So the Ds can't run on that record and the Rs don't care because the poor will never vote for them.

ReplyDeleteHelping the poor did make them dependent.
