An important and kinda hilarious primer on the topic of local taxes this morning from Super Dave.
Take a look:
Super Dave Seyz:
Tax Increment Financing (TIF), Transportation Development District (TDD)' and Community Improvement Districts (CID) are all scams that take tax payer dollars and puts it into the hands of people who want to use "your" money to finance their developments at no risk to the developer which in the end really gain the general public nothing in return.
All three tax scams need to go away and all developing needs to be paid for by the developer.
CID, Community Infused Disaster
TDD, Totally Dumb Decision
TIF, Totally Incredibility Fraudulent.

You decide . . .
"community improvement districts" - KCMO giving a private business the ability to scam customers by not divulging the true price of its product.
ReplyDeleteDave, you don't live in kc.I wish you would can it ,until you move on over here. Do you plan on doing that in the near future? NO , You do not,and you know damn well you don't.
ReplyDeletequit being a poser, and mind your own damn business .Lord knows you could focus on plenty of problems that JOCO has.
Of course , we all know ,there is no Tonys-JOCO , and even if there were you would still have to interject your opinion on everything KC.
don't get me twisted ,I have picked no sides in the train issue ,and find it boring as hell.
I'm just a guy who get's sick and tired of you sticking your big nose in place's it does not belong..
When was the last time you lived in KCMO OR jACKSON COUNTY ? Exactly-NEVER.
Are you going to deny, or tell me i'm wrong? EXACTLY- NO , you're not.
8:48 many of these readers including me gave up on KCMO years ago. But the corruption and ineptitude of KCMO harms the surrounding areas as well. Sad to say I don't see much future in the entire metropolitan area. KCMO is a city in decline and will unfortunately drag down the entire area. Sure there will be nice pockets at 200th Street and plowed ground but who wants to move every ten years just to live in a nice neighborhood?

ReplyDeleteIsn't the real issue whether the City should be supporting these tax-based financings? For example, the proposed Uptown CID is projected to generate approximately $100,000 per year in tax revenue. The proposed uses of these funds include: general maintenance/landscaping, snow removal, parking lot cleaning, security, administrative and legal expenses, accounting, insurance, etc. Many of these expenses seem to be normal costs of property ownership, yet the proposed CID would pass that expense on to the taxpayers that attend the Uptown Theater or purchase goods at the Uptown Shops.
ReplyDeleteIs this a financing vehicle that the City ought to support?
TIF= Totally Insane Fuckery!
ReplyDeleteDAVE = Dumb Arrogant Vapid Elder
ReplyDeleteSuper Dave is a fool who has no idea what he is talking about. He either has no idea what these development programs are or is engaged in willful ignorance to demagogue the point.
ReplyDeleteNot all TIFs, TDDs or CIDs are a good idea, but neither are all bad ones. Each should be judged on its own merit.
You really seem to have knocked it outta the park ,Dave LOL
ReplyDeleteDumb Fuck. Go Away.
