Nasty bit of blogging by local alt. publication taking aim at one of the few things that everybody likes about the hometown football team. Fact is, as long as Len Dawson is the last QB to win a Super Bowl in Kansas City . . . He deserves the respect of sports fans. Additionally, he does a fine job for this small market, not-so-important broadcast. We're not talking football and not anything really important to people's lives.
There are some things uniquely Kansas City and paying RESPECT to the insight of a lovable old codger is something that our cowtown should cling to . . . If we're really talking about a local media presence falling behind the times . . . The Pitch might want to simply look in the mirror.

ReplyDeletePeople have been wondering who will replace him when Len retires. Well, unfortunately it looks like it will be Kendall Gammon...for now at least. Something tells me Trent Green will be the permanent guy five years from now. Gammon just feels like a transitional guy until the real color commentator gets hired.
Kind of sad too that Bill Maas probably won't be considered. He was really good when he was on Fox, but of course couldn't get off the drugs and ruined his broadcast career.
