A freaking giant truck stop. Will they put up golden arches with a sign saying QT Village! The Gateway to Fabulous Westport?
ReplyDeleteTell them good luck, the residents at 102nd & Wornall can testify to being on the losing end of a similar expansion.
ReplyDeleteThe Volker West Plaza batch about everything.
ReplyDeleteThey had no issues with Andy's Custard across the street.
What they are really objecting to , is corporate businesses who employ a large demographic of desperately needed Midtown jobs that offer healthcare , jobs with benifts such vacation ,profit-sharing an opportunity for advancement.
Many of us are tired of have to drive out of Midtown for basic conveniences .
This a beautiful plan to clean up a VERY BLIGHTED area .
Convenience stores, as most people know, attract a discerning clientele, generally ranging from riff to raff.
ReplyDeleteAs long as QT continues to provide those tasty tacquitos, this can happen.
ReplyDeleteHaha just wait till the 3:00 AM rolling gun battles start in this area. Living on Holly Street should be a real hoot!
ReplyDeleteThe residents at 102nd & Wornall did not have Midtown/Plaza Plan.
ReplyDeleteIf City Hall approves this there will be no further proof required that they don't give a shit about anything or anybody.
The neighborhood is going up against the biggest gluttons on earth.
ReplyDeleteCity Council is probably all ready bought off on this deal.
ReplyDeleteOtherwise this proposal would have never seen the light of day.
The new QT's are awesome! Wish I had one near me. I usually skip the Westport store because there's no place to park. QT ROCKS!!

DeleteHey "anonymous". Maybe try looking up the word blighted in the dictionary before using it incorrectly. This is not a blighted part of town and suburban development has no place in our neighborhood. They can take their tasteless designs and shoddy architecture to Overland Park where it belongs.
