Maybe the merchants need to be serious about providing security, demanding more police protection, and getting the bar owners to close earlier.

ReplyDeleteDoes anybody really think Westport is safe. That's pure fantasy, reported by a dying newspaper. Whereas @8:59 is obviously interested in this blog.
The MSM lies to the public about everyday. No one believes Westport or the Plaza is safe anymore. But the Star wants to tell you something opposite of what your own eyes are seeing.
ReplyDeleteI used to work Westport Security back when they had to sweep up the eyeballs at Glazier's club. We used to have proactive patrols. We found a lot of guns and drugs. We prevented numerous shootings and deaths from beatings. We ran that ship as tight as possible. The problems began when they decided to phase out security and go with a corporate shopping mall security. When Power and Light moved in, they decided they needed to cut costs and reduce the lawsuits that proactive security generates. Although the job was rough, but we took pride in knowing we were protecting an exciting and historic area. I hate to see it go downhill.

Joke It takes real proactive Cops at least Ten Off Duty's in Westport to even start to return safety to the area The Merchants know it but someone is taking "Stupid Pills" if they think private security could ever handle as bad as it gets there on week-ends.
