City planners are either total idiots or are being paid off.
ReplyDeleteProbably being paid off would be my first guess.
Let's see. People parking so they can ride the toy train to nowhere (mostly round trips, since it doesn't really take you anywhere) have made the River Market unapproachable for the rest of us.
ReplyDeleteRiver Market is at one end of a very short trolley line, and in a very congested neighborhood. How can professionally trained city planners and other highly paid officials not anticipate that all the River Market's parking spaces would be fillled by choo-choo riders?
What in the actual fuck is wrong with Kansas City? Is there something in the water or what?
Another "free" town hall meeting hosted by yet another consulting firm which is being paid by an EPA grant, which is provided by your tax dollars.
ReplyDeleteHow much more of this "free" crap can we afford?
It is just stupid that they are getting rid of the parking lot at 3rd and Grand. I will quit going downtown when they do that. You could park take the MAX and go anywhere downtown.
ReplyDelete6:49 AM Wins this one.
ReplyDeleteI drove there for lunch on a weekday recently and had no trouble finding a parking space.
ReplyDeleteAll the parking lots in the area have been turned into subsidized apartments.
ReplyDeleteOnce they starting charging the tourist for the trolley rides, could that money be used to construct parking garages in the area?
ReplyDeletealthough this sounds kind of silly, it may be part of the process and natural growing pains.
ReplyDeleteit's worse when there's no attempt at communication.
Do we have to listen to Troy talk about his next project for half an hour? That would suck.
ReplyDeleteHere's how Kansas City killed the city market.
