Kansas City Newsie Elite Chatter Late Night

By and large and despite the "democratizing" potential of the Internets . . . Mainstream media local news remains an almost permanently closed eco-system proven by the fact that nobody on this exceptionally boring panel is under 40.

Still, this one is always worth a look inasmuch as it offers a glimpse at how corporate propaganda outlets are attempting to shape public opinion with their reporting.

Description for tonight's local legacy media sleep aid . . .

"Nick Haines, Barbara Shelly, Steve Kraske, Dave Helling and Steve Vockrodt discuss presidential politics in Missouri, the NRA endorsement of Democrat Chris Koster, third party candidates, the InterContinental Hotel seeking blight status and tax incentives, the latest delay for the Mission Gateway Project, former Kansas Governors weighing in on judge retention & Brownback seeking public input."

You decide . . .

  1. It's public tv, not netflix. Only losers expect to be entertained all of the time. Some of us want to be informed.

This was a great discussion and one of the best shows running in KCMO.

    A Welshman directing traffic.

A guy who stepped away from a failing newspaper to teach journalism, which is a profession in decline.

A woman who retired from a failing newspaper after years of blind devotion to the Liberal Socialist Democrat agenda.

A guy who left a failing weekly paper to join a failing daily paper.

A guy who's hanging on for retirement at a failing newspaper, and then hopes to join Rachel Maddow's show as a token heterosexual.
