Lots of good stuff out there and we'll focus on more politics, crime and local culture for the morning but for right now a recent death defying motorcycle chase with Kansas City police piques our interest.
Local media took orders to tone down street racing coverage so not to inspire copycat amateurs who had yet to fill out organ donor cards but this Summer seemed exceptionally active if all of the clips posted to the local Internets are any indication.

ReplyDeleteIt is not a question of if you will wreck your motorcycle, only whether you will die or not, because everyone who owns a motorcycle wrecks it. Have you notice that they don't bother with crash safety tests?

ReplyDeleteI have been fortunate enough to have followed (perchance serendipitously on my way to my "fun" job) some of these types of guys, and gals, On westbound I-70 towards downtown STL..
Do I approve of jeopardizing other's safety? No... Do they make me late for work on an early Saturday because they have the "draggers" clog three lanes and go about 35mph to Provide clear lanage to their brethren? Yes... Have I seen them incite the po-po? Ummmm, yes. Is one of them gonna split their dome open??? Yes.. Does my girl get mad at me when I slow down so as to not run them over and give them space? Of course... Does she change her mind and think its cool to get an actual "fist bump" out the window at 65 mph from one of them while he is pulling a wheelie and I'm just trying to maintain speed so as not to threaten the rythm? Absolutely..
Weird, ain't it?? These silly knuckleheads can do shit on those bikes of which mere mortals can only dream ... Again, yes.
Good for them. Now, cut out the BS and and form a cooperative and buy your own track.

ReplyDeleteHijinks and tomfoolery! I suppose I'll miss it. Them, not so much. I do hope they have good insurance so that the taxpayers don't have to pick up the tab for a few decades worth of medical bills once they go vegetative.
