KANSAS CITY HILLARY VS. TRUMP POST-DEBATE RUCKUS TONIGHT!!!

More partisan slap-fighting persists this evening with this collection of local pundits, consultants and activists this evening.

Here's the description of this Kansas City GOLD STANDARD of local discourse . . .

"Mike Shanin interviews Dr. Timothy Schmitt and Dr. Sean Kumer from University of Kansas Hospital about potential changes to the system that determines organ transplant allocation. Danedri Herbert, Mike Sanders, Steve Mirakian and Steve Glorioso discuss the impending Kansas Supreme Court decision on school funding, Missouri voter ID and campaign finance ballot issues & the first presidential debate."

  3. Another great show.

Thank you Mike Shanin for all the work you do in keeping Kansas City informed. There are many outlets for people to talk about the news but you provide a great forum for the experts to weigh in. Your show is one of the most valuable in KC and provides more information than most newscasts and our struggling newspaper.

  7. WELCOME TO THE NEW IMPROVED RUCKUS!!!

After rehabilitating themselves over the Summer break, and getting clean from that nasty Democrat habit, it's refreshing to see Ruckus continue this balanced political approach. BRAVO!!

Steve Mirakian -- excellent as usual! One of the top Ruckus panelists I've witnessed.

Mike Sanders -- a smart guy, but he never really explained that abrupt departure did he? Sometimes smart people do bad things. (like promote Democratic Party county corruption)

Steve Glorioso -- this Democratic Socialist represents most of what's wrong with KCMO municipal governance.

Danedri Herbert -- Now HERE was the surprise of the evening! And a pleasant surprise it was indeed. An intelligent, strongly opinionated, yet cordial panelist affiliated with the KC Star. No, I'm not joking! While I'm not familiar with Ms. Herbert, her addition into the Ruckus rotation is welcomed. Let's see her a second time to make sure, but I'm already thinking she might make a fine future member for the Star's Editorial Board. (if it survives)

Host Mike Shanin -- Because it's worth repeating, THANK YOU MIKE SHANIN for listening to viewers and taking corrective measures to ensure a balanced panel.

  8. My take: A very strong effort. I tune in weekly as Shanin is stellar in this format. One of, if not the, best panels this season. And I say this knowing that many other shows have had better topics. Unusual that all the panelists are articulate and have something interesting to say. In no particular order:

Danedri Herbert - Fantastic find. Liked her very much. Never heard of her before as a Missouri resident, but she really ought to be in the rotation. A-.

Steve Mirakian - Wins the old man "get off my lawn" curmudgeon award for the night. A bit long-winded, very crusty, but adds so much when he is on. Like him. B+.

Mike Sanders - Being out of politics agrees with him. Looks and sounds 10 years younger. Smart and interesting. Should be a regular. A.

Steve Glorioso - Weakest panelist tonight, but no shame there as they were all strong. Seemed a bit unprepared. However, the guy adds a lot of energy when he's on without taking himself too seriously. Can't help but like the guy. B.

I think this is a bit of addition by subtraction as well, no Mary O, Garza, or Freeman removes so much dead air. Kudos to Shanin. Over all grade: A.

  10. It was a good show imo.

  11. Danedri's been on before. She tends to lean to the middle right politically but moderate left on social issues which appeals to me since I'm a registered Independent. Beats the hell out of having Mary/Maury and Gwen/Glenn the hair hat on.
