KANSAS CITY BLOGGER MUST SEE!!! EPIC PHOTO NEWS FACT CHECK: WITNESS WHAT WAS ACTUALLY LOST IN HISTORIC NORTHEAST SCARRITT MANSION BLAZE!!!
One of the best photographers in Kansas City offers an important correction to the local news and bittersweet perspective on the real damage sustained in a recent fire to a beloved Northeast mansion.
Here's the word:
"The news gave the misleading impression that it was still under renovation and that virtually no furnishings were lost. NOTHING could be further from the truth. If you could post a link to my blog post, I would be eternally grateful. The homeowners have too much sweat equity, not to mention money, invested in this home to let that impression stand."
More detail . . .
Hyperblogal: "This magnificent 1888 Brownstone built for William Chick Scarritt burned yesterday. A local television station broadcast interior pictures from before the current owners restored this masterpiece. With their permission I'm posting these pictures of what was ACTUALLY lost. This is a tribute to the work of Larry and Susan... at least we have these memories for now. Much of the work was done by the owners themselves. To show the interiors before any work took place with the implication that not much in terms of furnishing was lost, is awful . . ."

hahaha, cry me a fucking river for these rich cunts. who fucking lives like that in 2016?
ReplyDeleteYou are such a dick bag.
DeleteDon't hate because their better off then you. Hating on the rich has become a cliché. A sad one at that. In stead of hating people who have a good home, why don't you do something in your life so you can have the same?
ReplyDeleteSure they're rich - they're streetcar supporters. Many GIGANTIC BAGS of $$ STREETCAR MONEY $$ were lost in the fire but it'll be OK, they just got another TRUCKLOAD OF $$ STREETCAR MONEY $$ this afternoon so they'll be out buying GRAND PIANOS tonight! Life is good!!!
ReplyDeleteAlso "instead" is one word, dimwit.
JEEPERS WHERE ARE KING LOUIE XVI AND MARIE ANTOINETTE GOING TO LIVE NOW???
ReplyDeleteLooks like someone was triggered today.
ReplyDeleteNow, that's what I call blight.
ReplyDeleteSad that it burnt. Glad that the furniture was run of the mill stuff. Can be rebought at any good vintage store.
ReplyDeleteHope they are up to the task.. it is worth the effort.
They're white. They'll manage.
ReplyDelete3:37 you're a dumb ass. That home was beautiful with tons of character you don't see anymore. Quit being jealous, and yes it is way nicer than my house too.
ReplyDeleteyou're the dumb ass, dumb ass. Fuck you.
DeleteHell of a spread. Who really lived there? King Croesus?
ReplyDeleteFires are terrible. Glad no one was hurt.
They put 1.8 million into the house but no security system with fire/smoke detectors?
ReplyDeleteFor all the lookey loos that are blown away by this house's interior, it's not that unusual for people to still live that way if it's how they were brought up.
ReplyDeletePfff i wouldn't wanna live there in the first place
ReplyDeletelol @ chuck, with all that money you're pulling out of the bar you must be richer than king croesus........ amazing 100 plus years ago people settled in the northeast, living like european lords in the new world, its a shame we throw all that craftsmanship away, how many houses lay empty in kcmo n kck, they tried to revive the house and did, cost a hefty penny to just keep the thing going i imagine, heating, cooling it.
ReplyDeleteThomas and Bernard Corrigan would have loved to have had dinner there......
ReplyDeleteThey had similar homes, amazing.
