COWTOWN DEAD TREE MEDIA HOUSE CLEANING!!! KANSAS CITY STAR COLUMNIST LEWIS DIUGUID STEPPING DOWN!!!

The Kansas City newspaper old school is almost completely gone at the largest daily newspaper in town.

Take a look at this headline from a couple of minutes ago . . .

Lewis Diuguid, a longtime member of The Kansas City Star’s editorial board, will be departing the paper along with veteran Yael Abouhalkah, who was laid off this week.

Diuguid has told friends that he intends to step down on Oct. 7, Abouhalkah’s last day at The Star.

Longtime readers were hoping for this move which now leave the Star with nearly no minority representation and with only one member of the editorial board . . . The new publisher/hatchet man who inspired the mass exodus.

Whilst some might tout this as good sign of editorial renewal . . . Other critics of the newspaper might argue that none of this newsprint drama will tear people away from their mobile phones.

You decide . . .

  1. If mary sanchez is shown the door, this could be the greatest week that Kansas City journalism has ever seen.

    There is your headline Tk.

  2. Protest soon? No Black columnists in KC.

  3. Things are changing in KC after generations of failed democrat control of the city. The voices for the establishment are fading away. With Ruckus even starting to be balanced, discussion for change instead of the same old democrat more failed government proposals might be put forth.

  4. It is going to really put a strain on the entire city. Without 10 to 12 articles every fucking month about Emmitt Till and "White Privilege" breakfast just won't be the same.

This, one trick pony excuse for a "journalist" will be missed by anyone with above room temp IQ like a sucking chest wound.

  5. HALLELUJAH!!!!!!!

Come November 8th, it's soon to be a new era dawning in America.

With this final, long overdue scuttling of the degenerate Liberal Editorial Board, the KC Star has purged itself of the lingering vile parasites feasting upon the body politic. Now it's a race to see if the devastated patient has the strength remaining to recover.

    Godspeed Tony Berg.

  7. Talk about neighborhood improvement! One liberal idiot gone and now a liberal idiot racist gone. Put a conservative in charge and I will come back as a subscriber.

  8. Make them all conservatives, & then you can claim it's 'Fair & Balanced'.

  9. And Toni Bonz is still dead.

  10. I wonder what happened to Bonz. I hope the government took her welfare.

  11. I used to work package pick up at the Sears store @ Bannister mall. One Sunday afternoon in '96 Duiguid bought a small TV and I walked it out to his car for him. I said "you look like that guy who writes for the Star". He stared @ me for 10-12 seconds like I was a space alien or something before saying "yeah that's me".I knew there and then the dude was sort of dim.

  12. BREAKING!!

I've just finished hacking Lewis' work computer (password: MyPartnerBette) and will now exclusively leak the topic of his final column.

Lewis Diugiud intends to expose a widespread conspiracy within the American fast-food chicken industry!!

    ALL-WHITE MEAT DINNERS!!!!

    It's RACIST....It's INSTITUTIONAL....and it needs to stop.

  13. is it possible that the out-of-towners are cleaning house with the intention of improving things?

  14. Now if we get the black clergy, freedom inc and City to empty their chairs of all the yesterday thinkers (using the term "thinkers" loosely, of course), maybe just maybe we dont have to live like its 1957, anymore.

  15. Old libtard journalists never die they just bitch away. Never fear there has to be a place for them at some lame ass local public broadcasting outlet.

  16. The good news keeps rolling in. He was the very worst of them all.

  17. Just write your Ritalin angst journalism mom& pop paid for have a red bull and vodka wake up call lunch and bitch slap yourself into the reality that you too will get old if your designer drugs don't kill you first. We survived our era less potent decadence. We just mow lawns and dog bullets waiting for our heart attacks and chasing young pussy. Sooooo, been there done that. And will still be around for the minority report. That on one cup of coffee.

  18. Getting rid of Abouhalkah and Duiguid (and, I hope, Sanchez) is a good thing in my book, but its worthiness will dim if they are replaced by a bunch of other nationally syndicated liberal columnists. I would almost rather read Lewis Duiguid than Clarence Pitts or Paul Krugman. Their departures will be a vast improvement if the Star prints at least one conservative pundit each day (and by conservative I'm not talking liberals' neutered pets like David Brooks).

  19. I will buy you all drinks if Mary "Dirty" Sanchez is next.

  21. Is it between Narly Snatcheeze and Ann Landers yet?

  22. I lean to the left. I can't stand Diuguid. My favorite article he wrote was several years ago. Anybody remember the black women were offended when a 20 year old flight attendant tried solving some problem on the plane by doing eeny-meenĂ½-minie-mo catch a tiger by its toe? Apparently 100 years ago it was catch a nigger by its toe. Diuguid wrote an entire article saying this young flight attendant was racist with terrible parents who didn't teach their daughter the evils of saying that. I'm 20 years older than that flight attendant and I had never heard it any way other than catch a tiger by its toe. He wanted her fired and the airline to publicly apologize. He is a clown that can't write about anything other than race-baiting and blaming everything on whitey. He of course gets to leave on his own terms while Yael gets laid off. Wonder if their severance packages were the same? Hell if Hoopz didn't quit she'd be the last one there.

  24. As I look across my palatial Johnson County estate, I wonder who now will claim I benefit from white "priveledge." Glorious day in KC...glorious!

  25. On Oct 9th, the people of this marvelous city need to show the new brass at the Star that we approve of this purging of mediocrity and buy a paper. I'm sure there are still places that sell them

  26. Anyone who disagrees with anything Lewis said seemed to be a racist- he was an awesome writer about his old VW- how smart his dad was- and was by far the best mediocre writer the star ever had. I can't say I ever learned anything from his musings- nor did he inspire me- but I used him as an example of the Peter Principle- so he served his purpose. At least Yael inspired me to run- never agreed with his writing- but nice to see an old man jog- gives old people hope. Yes- it would be nice to see Mary leave and get a conservative in. Her glory days must be her time spent in Maryvillle. Her virtue is her venom-writing and ability to stir the pot. I haven't read anything by her in years, can only suffice she still writes liberally slanted and draws from the energy of angry childless liberals... Wish they would rid all poets of editorial boards... What good do they do for shareholders? They only make half the people mad and cause countless people to stop stop being subscribers... Shame on anyone not picking up on this earlier.
