Yup a shit load of new bureaucracy and adopting a plain ol' mutt will cost $250 - $300 in no time - while they scratch their ass and put more healthy animals down.

Fortunately the shelter is run by a not-for-profit -- and is at least mostly free from government bureaucracy.

4:51: It's so thrilling to hear from someone as erudite as you who has obviously spent untold nanoseconds to come up with such an informed position on something he knows absolutely nothing about.

Great news! Animals need and deserve our support and care. I'd much rather my tax dollars go to support pets in need than a lot of other city projects.
