TKC Saturday Night Playlist!!! Disparity In Decapitation Vs. Shocking Home Shooting Slaughter: Was Coverage Of Kansas City Youngsters Killed Racist???

Death makes equals of us all.

The question of mortality is something that all people must confront and recently locals who follow the Kansas City news raise the important question of disparity in the coverage of recent deadly tragedies involving local youngsters on opposite sides of town in every way.

In one instance, a youngster was reportedly decapitated in a horrific tragedy on a water slide and the story resonated around the world.

About a week later, two youngsters were killed in their home and one reportedly snuggled up to the other as they were dying.

Here's a rundown regarding the similarities . . .

- Both stories offer insight into a public health threat that could put others at risk.

- Both tragedies were probably preventable . . .

- Both events ended innocent lives and the community was shocked in the aftermath.

Here's the kicker . . . In BOTH stories there is a call to "move on" and avoid thinking too much about the details of the horrific deaths that might serve to better inform the public.

Still . . . There's no denying that the decapitation aspect of the water slide story was a part of the international fascination with the water slide story . . . That doesn't happen every day. Sadly, innocent African-American youngsters killed in their community is a far too regular occurrence. Only the very young age of the recent victims has raised alarm for their community.

In a perfect world there should be room in local news headlines to examine both tragedies but let's go one step further and realize that there are far more people interested in the RESURRECTED KANSAS CITY ROYALS RALLY MANTIS than either one of theses stories.

To be fair . . . People have their own problems and a constant cycle of horrific news risks driving locals away from corporate media coverage . . . However . . .

In Kansas City, pathological politeness rules the day and the dreadful culture of this town tends to constantly turn away from anything too unpleasant.

In the end, none of this makes the tragedies that killed three youngsters any less gruesome or lamentable but merely reminds us that there is culture war, media and racism debate for some people even in the face of death while this town's instinct is to stifle ANY conversation that might change the status quo.

And this inspires our playlist for tonight . . .

As always, thank you for reading this week and have a safe and fun Saturday night.

  1. Is there racism in this world, yes. But that's not a reason to dwell on it. I think that's what most people are saying and most people also have room in their hearts to regret bot of these tragedies. That SHOULD be the overriding sentiment.

  2. The Rally mantis and the chance for the royals to make the playoffs again is a big deal to a lot of people. Sad but true.

  3. Heard this one a lot and I can only agree with one point here. BOTH of these killings must be examined further.

But TKC, you forgot about election season and most people are more interested in sharing their views about Trump or Hillary.

  4. Idiot. One was an accident. The others were murders. Again.

  5. What's it like to be so mentally ill as to be divorced from reality, Tony?

  7. I'm no fan of the ghetto but it makes me incredibly sad to imagine these two little boys clinging to life.

  8. When they designed and built such a dangerous ride, they should have known that someone would be killed for their folly. That is manslaughter and I think the courts wI'll agree.

    ReplyDelete
  9. The boys murdered were black and poor. We don’t see repeated rants from the JoCoPost lady about them. Her tirades are reserved only for a white child killed in an accident. Sadly racism is alive and well.

    ReplyDelete
  10. ^^^^^^ But you must consider what an idiot media whore she is to begin with. She could care less about that white boy anymore than she could those black ones. Like Mayor Sly she hops on the media train that will gain (in her own mind) the most media attention for her two POS Blogs that nobody honestly cares about. Interesting how she runs to a Free Speech Zone hawking her wares but only will post comments she agree with from you. In short she censors anything she doesn't like just like that nonessential prick Mo Rage does.

  11. I have room in my heart for both of these tragedies, just like im sure most of us do ,Tony..wtf man??

i want the scum bags that killed the two black kids found and put in a cage forever, that goes for all the kid killers out there.i also want black people to stand up and tell police who these fucks are, because you know ,they know.
how sick can you be to hide these people.i dont give a goddamn how scared you are..fuckin chicken shits!!

i want the people to who are responsible for the death-slide ,all of them to pay dearly..we all knew,so did they that it was not safe, this little boy did nothing to deserve what happened to him ,just like the other two boys..
it is "insane" for some fuck to be able to design and build this thing and have a state and city go right along with it,when they knew it was a piece of shit ,and someone would more than likely die on it,C'mon..we all knew

in conclusion- it looks as though kc and kck dont give a rats ass about children.if i see one more silly ass thing on the web touting this region of this city as being #1 place to raise a family ,i think i'll puke..MO and ks are both shitholes, and highly dangerous for children to live

and c'mon tony give the fuckin race baiting a rest.you are trippin dude.take some time off, trust me ..WE'LL SURVIVE!

  12. correction--region of the country, meaning ,the entire metro.

  13. First of all, I normally don't bite the bait, but you caught me at a strange time in my life. I stopped drinking, smoking, and gave up coffee. All at once. Here goes. Thanks TKC for a place to get answers. Second, some speak just. To reply, I respect sincere answers. Facts, who doesn't want them. Most reliable place? Finally, just an average citizen with questions and opinions. A bit of sarcasm and wit,yet just an invisible one with a small voice. Have a good weekend.

  14. @9:51. Thank you for that comment. I think there is some racism in Kansas City but we are good people at heart. We need to focus on that and your comment reminded me of as much.

    1. @10:24. You seem lonely tonight. That is a shame you're looking for comfort on a blog.

I say, God bless these children and God bless their family and this community so that we can heal.

I hope you find comfort sir, you seen angry and alone and I don't think a news blog is the right place to deal with those issues. I hope you can look to your family, friends and community for the support you need.

  16. this city ,black and white are tired of the killing, muggings, strong arm robberies, the way children and our senior citizens are treated.people are tired of not going outside ,in some places ,day or night ,from pure fear of predators, looking to fuck somebody up and over ..we just want to be safe and not have to worry about our children catching a stray bullet getting off the bus or having our houses shot up and innocent kids being killed.is it to fucking much for Sly and the Chief a nd the rest of them to realize ..this is priority ONE?!?!! FIX IT ..THATS WHAT YOU ARE SUPPOSED TO DO!!

  17. 10:37 You are either Tony or the guy he blows. Fuck off. In either event I'll take lonely any day over what you got going on.

  18. The deaths of children always gets the masses fired up. Sadly those in power to stop the blatant out and out killing of children don't really seem to be all that upset over it. No the BLM group of assholes are too busy pointing fingers everywhere but where they need to be pointed. Mayor Sly and Chief Forte just continue to do their jive and shuffle media dances and for the most part, while doing nothing solid to try and stop the murdering of people on what almost appears to be a daily event.
The child who died on the slide is indeed a very sad thing, but not a one of you assholes can tell me to my face a group of adults built something with all the intentions of seeing people being killed on it. I personally know of many people who have ridden the thing and all admit it scared the hell out of them, but all thought is was a great ride and would ride it even again tomorrow if it were to open. They as well thought the staff had their well being in their best interest as in making sure everyone was fastened in. So what happened? Who knows and maybe we won't for that matter know 100%. But so far I have heard nobody who rode it before saying they were scared and would never ride it again.
As for that media sucking Tracy of Jack Off Post and her weight on a paper airplane bullshit, one can see the stupid witch knows nothing about real airplanes. Where do you think all the weight is located on a plane? Sure isn't on the nose of it. Trying to compare an airplane to a water slide ride is like comparing a tricycle to an oceanliner.

  19. Funny, nobody said a thing about the teen girl that got shot, witnessed their murder and still went to school the first day. Where's her petting dog to help her through this tragedy? They all went to Hogan for years. Tell me those kids at that school aren't hurting. Treating them like poor orphan stepchildren. I SMH....my KC. Explain that difference.

  20. Rich man, Poor man. Is it about Class. What part of the tracks you reside...that dividing line on how much are you worth? The coins in your pocket. The slave mentality lives on. Missouri nice my arse. Southern roots. Civil war hasn't quite left this town has it. Border wars indeed....

  21. 11:39 too sad for words.
id rather cry for a minute

  22. Do like everyone else in this town...turn the page. Just wait for the next black child. They got another one. Instead of a noose, it's a bullet. Turn your back, turn the page, set the book called their life on fire. We read it. It has no future. Pull the trigger baby killer, you hear that....it's your silence killing them...quietly saying it is okay. That's all they know. They are like that. Who wants to bury their child at any age? Who?

    ReplyDelete
  23. They didn't have money for balloons for a vigil for the two boys or did I miss it cause of the white boys funeral? I. SMH. KC...just waiting for the next one. Damn, how cold, yet how true. All those phones and no pics of the head in the net how suspect. He sought comfort of his big brother before he took his last breath, last thump of his heart...beating by his beloved big brother....but WE are Polite. How's that for manners?

  24. ^^^^ sign your name and you'll get an answer to your question. Most people are content in just being rude online like me. That's why the Internet is great.

  25. Reporters had no problems talking about Precious Doe's chopped off head and she was a little black girl so stop your LIES. No tragedy was used. No neck injury. You even drew a picture. You do show disparity and you got called out on it news folk. Step up and do the right thing. Your acceptance makes you part of the murder. That Missouri Nice is Killing U.S. Stop being part of the problem.
    Note:
Common ground met with a racist.
So I will hold my peace about kids too.

  27. over a petiod of time, people in a democracy get the government they want and deserve.

so, if the government fails to maintain law and order, it's because people didn't want law and order.

  28. The waterpark kid was a freak accident; the result of failed machinery.

The murdered kids were a predictable result of a terminally failed subculture.

  29. What would the media have done if the black kid got his head whacked off ad the whitey kid got whacked.

  30. Racist? Racist? Now there's a word that hasn't been overused for the last 7-1/2 fucking years.

  31. TONY Thanks for including Gil Scott-Heron on your list. He is gone but should not be forgotten. He was the grandfather and godfather of rap. His Whitey On The Moon would have fitted her too.
