Stealing, in itself, has become a minor crime. Most stealing cases don't result in felony convictions. Most result in plea deals or are knocked down to misdemeanors for other reasons. People know so little about criminal justice, other than what they see on TV shows. Most people have no idea that very few criminal cases result in trials. Entire aim of the criminal justice system is to put people away without the huge expense of convicting them at trial. How do they do that? Parole revocation. Plea-bargaining. Etc.

The only thing our justice system does really effectively is serve as a profit center for corporate prisons, lawyers and police departments. Everything else is just incidental. Welcome to the fucked up United States.

This is the same Supreme Court that contradicted the very logic they applied in this decision when they ruled that the state constitutional amendment, voted on and passed by the people, did not mean that violent felons could not have guns - even though that is exactly what the amendment said. Now they rule that statutes must be taken literally. If ever judges needed to be recalled it is now right here in Missouri.

OMG! Does that mean that we must slow down our manufacture of felons until next year? HORRORS!

That program has been in effect for some time under Queen Peters.

Time to drag a few of these damned judges out into the street and explain to them in person the kind of damage they do to our society.
