Kansas City Dead Tree Media Demands City Hall Deferred Maintenance Fix Despite Years Of Downtown Development Touristy Advocacy

Kansas City neighborhoods and streets outside the loop are crumbling and the newspaper but the newspaper has reinforced a Mayoral agenda that mostly focuses on tourist attractions and luxury living ponzi schemes. Now that another bond issue tax increase is in play, they've started to notice decay outside of the gilded corporate Downtown enclave: Kansas Citians need a solid package of basic improvements from City Hall

  4. If only voters would pay attention and participate, the most basic improvements that could come from city hall could be made on the next election day.
    But nothing will change.
When has ANYTHING owned by the city been well-operated or maintained?

  5. It's offensive that City Hall is only willing to focus on city services when they get a nice tax increase out of it. Wtf.

  6. Voters should beware.....as the corruption crime machine in City Hall will hide developer subsidies and political friends and family consultant contracts funds deep in the package. Any bond package offered by this crime crew.....presents just another source of revenue for them to play with. Ask yourself, when have they ever been honest and truthful about the funding for basic city services.... Their track record for lying to the public is unbroken to this day.

  7. The City always waits until repairs cost twice as much to do them. i.e. sewers.

  8. We'd have a lot more money to repair infrastructure if the Star had not weaseled its way into continuing tax deferral on its print shop property. When the Star starts doing what it preaches then maybe I will start listening to the sermon.

Funny that the Star hated Mayor Funkhouser and helped push him out of office, yet Funkhouser's agenda was very much focused on BASIC INFRASTRUCTURE.

After you lose your former longtime City Auditor/Mayor who wouldn't play the developer giveaway game, and you see the James fiasco, you start to miss the old times!
