FAITH NO MORE: ATHEISTS STAY WINNING OVER BAPTISTS IN KANSAS CITY!!!

Once again, OUR BLOG COMMUNITY TALKED ABOUT THIS BACK IN JULY and now the newspaper writes a sympathetic missive on the controversy.

TKC QUESTION: DO YOU FEEL SORRY FOR KANSAS CITY BAPTIST CONVENTION HARDSHIP OR SUPPORT SEPARATION OF CHURCH AND STATE AGREEMENTS???

It's still a question Dead Tree Media is too scared to ask because of the political connections of the parties involved, so we thought we'd offer the discussion here . . . Atheists' lawsuit is financial setback for Baptist convention in KC

  3. Good point, above.

  4. That principle could be applied to lots of other, secular groups that don't pay taxes. Not that there's anything wrong with that.

  5. John Modest Miles deserves to be, and has earned the title of the next Kansas City homicide victim, but I will settle for this defeat. Great news! He needs to have his snout permanently removed from the public trough.

  6. I love it when the star digs through archives to find dated photos for their current stories. This photo is every bit of ten years old and shows that all the land gifted to Miles mostly went unmaintained. Its especially nice to see the trash built up on the lot in the background. You gotta love a hypocrite.

  7. Let me get this straight. Convention goers have 7.9 million to spend in Kansas City but they need $65,000 in taxpayer funding to do it? This convention is a semi-political and 100% religious endeavor whether its open to the public or not. Sounds suspicious to me. The court did the right thing. The case is now moot. Fund your own parties at your own expense. When will the City fund the first Islamic religious event.

  8. Not a good idea to bring large numbers of Christian fundamentalists to our fair city. These people shit on sidewalks and worse.

  9. I like Modest, he's got a great hat collection.

  10. Is that guy one of the chi-lites? He looks like he's singing a hell of a tune!

I only wish I could be there dancing backup. I can dig it.

  11. First off lets identify this bunch for what they are. This is a pack of BLACK Baptists and a tax free religion. So the social, cultural and economic value of having this conventions is near zilch. Second the bars, vice and hookers won't make a dime. Finally we are going to spend more than $65,000 fighting this thing in court. So why not just tel these "Baptists" that if they can not afford to have a convention without a typical Black package of handouts they should throw their party in New Orleans.

  12. ^^^^^Agree except for the part about bars, vice, and especially hookers (male, female, and TG). Those Baptists aren't so religious when they're away from home.

You're probably among his most faithful and shallow followers. He has nobody with any education following him. There's a good reason for that.
