As we slouch toward the August primary and then onto the toughest part of election season, there's just a bit of Democratic Party infighting regarding support from a Kansas City baseball legend turned politico.

The deets confirm previous reporting that Truman Days/Gala had a tough time this year and here's one perspective on the drama.

"It makes no sense that a politician with no opponent would be shaking down the local labor community for campaign cash when so many Democrats are desperately trying to raise enough money to be competitive in November. Every dollar he raises today he doesn't really need, and would otherwise go to candidates looking to win in November. It is an act of extreme selfishness by a politician who is only looking out for himself, and clearly isn't invested in anyone or anything else on he ballot (including, by the way, the county car tax that he helped put on the ballot).

He doesn't need them and they know it.
The danger for Frank is that they're going to pick apart his legend piece by piece and try to make people forget that he ever picked up a baseball glove.
Disagree only with this: Frank at least showed up to the Gala.
ReplyDeleteWhere was Sly? The mayor is stumping for Hillary and has certainly made one trip after the next to the white house but other than Hensley, he hasn't offered much support at all.
And all of his help comes with a huge price tag of favors and more. That's the real guy to focus on Tk, Sly is way more selfish than Frank.

If they dont care about their family, being honest or engaged in their children's lives, then its impossible to assume that they are or can be team players. Another "bad dad" situation like Charles Barkley scolds those of "non-support" parents in black families, perhaps?
