TKC BREAKING NEWS!!! FOR THE WIN: GOVERNOR JAY NIXON ENDORSES REP. JOHN RIZZO FOR MISSOURI STATE SENATE!!!

Kansas City political news hasn't picked up this one so we're calling it breaking and part of a Primary season that hasn't been as eventful as we might have suspected . . . The low-money noob opposition has decided to avoid going negative and only a few social media fans remain after some initial chatter earlier this year. Moreover, this move has DECIDED a Missouri State Senate race that includes part of Kansas City . . .

John Rizzo Earns Support from Governor Nixon

State Representative John Rizzo Receives the Endorsement of Gov. Jay Nixon

Independence, MO – On Monday, Missouri Governor Jay Nixon endorsed State Representative John Rizzo in the Democratic primary for the 11th State Senate District.

“John Rizzo has the honesty, and integrity necessary to be an outstanding State Senator. He has stood shoulder to shoulder with me fighting for working families and has demonstrated the leadership to be a strong advocate for the needs of his community and the people of Missouri,” said Governor Nixon.

“John as fought to increase funding for public education and has been a strong advocate of improving schools and educational opportunities for children in our state. The Missouri Senate needs John Rizzo and that's why I proudly endorse John Rizzo for the Missouri Senate.”

John Rizzo, a Jackson County Democrat, is originally from Jackson County, Missouri, having grown up in part of the 11th Senate District. As a trusted community leader and public servant, John first joined the Missouri House of Representatives to offer local residents an independent and honest voice in Jefferson City. He will continue that public service in the Missouri Senate, ensuring that hard-working families in the local community and throughout Missouri will be protected from harmful, special interests. John has been a long-time member of Communication Workers of America.

“I am honored to have the support of the Governor. The future of Missouri will depend on how the legislature responds to the need for good-paying jobs, quality healthcare, and great schools for our children,” said John Rizzo. “As a member of the State Senate, I will continue to focus on our local community here in Jackson County, as well as making sure that our business climate continues to thrive.”

  1. Mostly agreed about Missouri primary season. I think the only standouts have been the republican primaries. They seem to be weakening their candidates so Koster can easily knock down who ever runs.

  2. not sure if anything is ever "decided" in politics but I'm glad to see that you're a fan of The League.

  3. Kansas City Democrats need to get away from all of these Hillary-heads. This is a good start.

  4. I have received about 4 flyers per week from him. He always indicates he is a Jackson County Democrat. Is he trying to distance himself from KCMO for those of us in the burbs. Does he say he is a Kansas City Democrat to voters in KCMO?

Someone is spending a lot of money to get Rizzo elected to a lowly state senate race. Probably investing for a future run.

  9. He would not be in politics today if not for the non-citizen vote in his first election. But hey, it worked for Lyndon Johnson, maybe it will work out for Rizzo too.

  10. I'm too busy today to get a complete rundown on the total dollars that Rizzo has donated to the guv since becoming a legislator. Anybody else have a bit of time to run through the MEC reports? Nothing comes free.

  15. As a woman who has been a subject of Crystal's abuse (because I disagreed with her on something she knows very little about but a field I both have a degree in and worked in for 25 years) I can attest to the ego and madness that is Crystal Williams.

If I was a woman running for office I would stay far away from her. I don't understand why women still listen to her. What real power does she have other then the little world of make believe she runs in? She's certifiably nuts. She's a bully. I've seen her talk to and about some of her most loyal supporters like shit. I just don't get why anyone pays her any attention at all.

  17. 12:26 TRUTH.

Jessica is a good woman, probably a little too liberal for the district. But Chrystal is a fucking cancer and everyone outside of her wine club knows it, male, female or in-betweenmale. She is certifiably crazy.

  18. Rizzo will win this one easily. Jessica should not have listened to Crystal. Crystal ruined her.
