TKC BREAKING AND EXCLUSIVE NEWS!!! KANSAS CITY AIRPORT DELAY TACTICS: PROPONENTS OF RENOVATION PLAN TO WAIT OUT LAME DUCK MAYOR SLY!!!

Quick update on the future of Kansas City's most valuable transportation resource . . . The waiting game is now the biggest part of the play to keep the Mayor from achieving his single-terminal dreams.

To wit . . .

KICK-ASS KANSAS CITY INSIDERS REVEAL THEIR EFFORT TO RUN DOWN THE CLOCK ON THE AIRPORT UNTIL MAYOR'S SLY'S INFLUENCE EVENTUALLY DEPARTS!!!

Here's the word . . .

"The single-terminal dies when Sly is out of office," one KICK-ASS INSIDERS said. "The next Mayor is going to have to share a comprehensive plan for the future of the airport and voters will be forced to decide on its merits and their candidates. (Mayor) Sly's back room bullying sessions won't be a part of the new discussion."

And what we hear is far more enthusiasm about renovation over the single-terminal for the immediate future in as much at there are designs and local architects who have presented a reasonable plan rather than consultant cronies of Mayor Sly's who are still trying to campaign on Twitter.

Still, big money moves quickly and the Port Authority scheme to work around voters could very well prove to be a game changer that could force a more contentious flight path toward the future . . .

Developing . . .

Sly's exit from city hall could be one of the worst times KC has ever seen from a political standpoint. His love for gun control and grand gestures might make this city sorry they ever elected him, if they aren't already.

#NewKCI

We will get it done.

Wait as long as you want, that airport will still be an obsolete piece of shit.

^^^^ Dropoff time less than 10 minute average. That's better than any major city in the nation. KCI wins.

Why spend 2 billion for some fast food places, a fountain and a 40 minute drop off wait?

how about some minor renovations in the meantime? $25 million would go a long way for more bathrooms and some other tweaking.

it's so obvious that the airport is trying to make passengers uncomfortable and demand a new airport.

Van Loh is gone. Time to move forward.

Caught a KCI flight this morning. 6 minutes from being dropped off by Parking Spot shuttle to the gate. Had a nice breakfast of eggs, sausage, toast and taters at the Royals themed restaurant above my Delta gate and still had 20 minutes to kill before they called my flight. The city has done everything it could to make the KCI experience lousy but the incredible design triumphs every time. If we need more room for bathrooms and more restaurants, look up. There is a lot of SF available next to the Royals restaurant.

any moderately experienced air traveler knows by his own eyes that kci works better than most other airports as far as things that count.

the special interests are not going to be able to get the folks to vote for a project they know defies common sense and real life experience.

Big, big traveler here. KCI is without a doubt the easiest to use airport on the planet.
