TKC BREAKING AND EXCLUSIVE NEWS!!! AFTER KANSAS CITY BUILDING COLLAPSE CITY HALL DELAYS DEMOLITION & BLIGHTS COLUMBUS PARK NEIGHBORHOOD!!!

This afternoon our blog community offers a fact check against so much hype about the upcoming effort to demolish dangerous buildings in Kansas City.

Let's remember this promise from not so long ago . . .

KC Mayor Sly James announces $10 million plan to demolish dangerous buildings in the city

Now . . .

Take a look the reality on local streets . . .

OUR TKC BLOG COMMUNITY OFFERS FIRST WORD ABOUT A DANGEROUS BUILDING THAT RECENTLY COLLAPSED AND WAS SLATED FOR DEMOLITION WHICH HAS NOW BEEN DELAYED THANKS TO CITY HALL!!!

Here's the word . . .

"TKC, that building that fell in Columbus park TWO WEEKS AGO is just sitting there . .  All demolition has stopped. The top floor was just taken off and the owner is trying to save the bottom two floors. City Hall is allowing it to sit there, trashed. It's a mess."

Make no mistake, the ruling has been handed down that this building needs to go:

Fox4: Engineers say 100-year-old building must be demolished

And yet, MORE THAN TWO WEEKS LATER the structure still stands and reminds us of so many empty promises from Mayor Sly's Administration while neighbors endure more blight thanks to City Hall's inability to destroy dangerous structures in the urban core.

  1. At least we have a streetcar.

  2. Sly's promises aren't worth spit.

  3. Maybe it's a "historic" building like Kemper Area. If that's the case we're never going to be able to get rid of it.

  4. Tk, that $10 million is for contractors and you know it.

  5. The owners filed a motion to halt demolition. Don't you fact check anything? It took me 45 seconds to find! And then you have the gall to go off on the city when the owner is to blame?

You're just about the shittiest "news" source on the fucking planet!

  6. ^^^^^^ Sly staffer forced to work on Friday afternoon. Sorry about that, once again you miss the point or are just lying to protect that crook you call a boss. It's okay, we'll explain it to you slowly so even Sly can keep up between sips of his expensive scotch. There shouldn't have been a motion because the buildings should be destroyed by now. The point is that the city isn't equipped to deal with blight or dangerous buildings and condemnation process should've already been expideted. But you're too busy kissing the mayor's feet to realize it. Hope it's worth it. You're turning this place into a he'll hole

  7. @6:12 thinks this is the shittiest "news" source on the planet but checks in every day all day and on Friday afternoon before he gets off work. I guess self-loathing must be a Kansas City trait.

  8. ^^^^^^^^^^^^^ @6:14 careful there, you don't want to give Sly too much power to tear down your house or else he would have taken out Brookside a long time ago.

  9. KC looking more and more like Detroit every day.

  11. Sly had to go to the White House for a photo op with the Royals!

    This infrastructure shit can wait.

  12. The city has no right to tear down a building that is later found to be structurally sound. That story is TWO FUCKING WEEKS OLD.

You all want to see the third party structural integrity report the owner produced? Go ahead and prove me wrong! The building is still standing, isn't it!!!

Just another lame attempt to rip on the city again. What fun. It's TKC that looks more and more like Detroit every day...nothing but a bunch of dumbass niggers here.

  13. ^^^^ Are you counting yourself among that lot??? You're here Friday after work smelling all of our farts and crying by yourself. That must sting, so bad.

  14. Sounds like the "fact check" got its facts checked! And how!!!

    TKC FALSEHOOD!!!

  15. ^^^^^^ Doubtful, we're just slapping around Sly's staffers, consultants and paid reporters and seeing that they're a bunch of racist crybabies. Just like the sellout mayor who doesn't really like black people, not even his own sons.

  16. Mayor Sly James’ latest plan: Bring NBA All-Star Game to KC!

It's the important priorities. Things that bring out the confetti cannons and marching bands, and gives the Mayor opportunities to tweet selfies.

  17. ^^^ Free tickets for the thugs who molested that girl at Mayor's nights?

    Sounds like a plan.

  18. Tear it down. Should've been condemned if not for the corrupt mayor and his city manager.

  19. while they are in the process of knocking down dangerous buildings start at City Hall

  20. Sounds like you got served on this one. But any excuse to tell us how awful Kansas City is, right? Sure! Even if it's made-up bullshit!!!

  21. ^^^ You're reading @ 9:35 on a Friday night. TKC won.

City should've condemened and torn down this house last week.

    But nothing.

    Thanks B.S. Slyiar

  22. Sly is planning on spending the 10,000 million to tear down all of Brookside because 35% of Brooksiders don't like his toy train! We have proof. It's not like he won in a fucking landslide in Brookside, AFTER THE STREETCAR EXTENSION ELECTION, or anything. Sly is hated in Brookside, and he plans on making Brookside PAY by remodeling the Waldo Fire Station for female employees to have separate bathrooms and not funneling city money to privately owned fountains WHICH ARE BASIC INFRASTRUCTURE! Think about it, yeah, sure, 400,000 trips have been taken on the little 2.2 mile toy choochiedoochie, but way more people LOOK A FOUNTAINS as they drive by at 55 mph down residential streets that are free and inherently safe and good. Brookside is in full revolt! We have at least 3 Facebook pages about it! We aren't going to take this shit anymore, like the new traffic signals all over in Brookside and the miles of new curbs and sidewalks, and the excellent city maintenance of the Trolley Track Trail that Sherry steals more and more of every year! Enough is e-fucking-nough! AMIRITE? Marsha! Tell them how right I am!

  23. ^^^^ I only want to know how you bill this work. That's it. Don't want to argue, keep it up. I'm just really interested in how a streetcar consultant would invoice this stuff. Does Tony get a cut? It's amazing and would almost be funny if this streetcar wasn't costing KC so much damn money.

  24. No date last night, trolley boy?

  25. The City also said the Cosby Hotel was in danger of imminent collapse... that was false too...
