RESIDENTS RAGE AGAINST KANSAS CITY URBAN CORE HOBO CAMPING SEASON!!!

Quick update for drivers going North or anybody passing through one of the most diverse communities in the metro . . .

KANSAS CITY RESIDENTS ARE STARTING TO VOICE COMPLAINTS THE NUMBER OF HOBO CAMPS PROLIFERATING THROUGHOUT THE URBAN CORE!!!

Talk of this trend has been worse over the past week . .

- In Northeast Kansas City right off Independence Ave. & Paseo there's a constant impromptu hobo camp that welcomes travelers as soon as they get off the highway.

- Hobos have set up shop in the back woods of the West Bottoms and seem to be settling in for the long haul.

- Meanwhile, to the east of Downtown there are a few hobo camps inside abandoned buildings that have yet to enjoy the benefits of the Kansas City toy train streetcar.

The complaints are starting to mount but what's clear is to any denizen of midday traffic is that Kansas City's homeless population is rising this Summer and locals are having a harder time balancing kindness with the protection of their property.

You decide . . .

  1. I thought they were all going to live on the toy train, as confirmed by kick ass tipsters.

  2. Maybe the 24,000 people I saw waiting for the choo choo the other day were actually homeless people.

  7. PUBLIC SERVICE ANNOUNCEMENT

    Dear resident,

This is a friendly reminder that use of the term "hobo" to describe those who are temporarily homeless and/or jobless, is a micro-aggression against this group within our greater community.

When discussing this segment of our population, the proper and preferred terminology includes the following:

    Vagrant
    Housing-challenged
    Traditional employment disadvantaged
Obama street corner scholar (hoping for some change!)
    Outdoor adventurer

  8. So soon they forget that all lives matter. Now its back to complaining about people less fortunate than you. It's a whirlwind being an American. Being American means there is no standard of humanity.

  9. Since they don't have an official address, the city counts them as tourists

  10. Whole families living in tree lines and wooded areas in Northeast KC. Stealing and panhandling their means of support. Alcohol and drugs are their addiction. And in KC this is all ok. 435 at Front street, Winner rd, Truman rd., 23rd st are swarming with this activity. And it's all ok in KC. SUCKS!

  11. The streetcar has driven them into these sad, destitute conditions. Before toy trains everyone lived in mansions with golden toilets.

  12. Careful.
Quite a few of the new homeless are millenials whose parents got sick and tired of having to financially support them while they lived at home, ate out of the fridge, and spent all night riding the streetcar and drinking $15 artisnal cocktails made of local booze and organic kale.
So they booted them out on the street.
Be sure to ascertain the appropriate trigger words befor approaching them!
You wouldn't want to hurt their feelings or crush their dreams of becoming tech billionaires by age 25.

  13. It isn't the homeless that is the problem. It is the homo people.

  14. Those people are NOT hobos, they are BUMS, BEGGARS, TRAMPS, DERELICTS and CRIMINALS. If you do not know the difference, get smart!
