Let's be clear.....there really are no consistent guidelines for flag lowering at the local level especially. Our city has lowered its flag for just "so called prominent people in the minds of the City Manager who have never resided in our city....but are well connected to the power elite in our town, while local heroes, who have been residents, have been ignored by this honor. Some clear definitive guidelines adopted by the City Council would really be a good start.
