Civil Rights Bill Crafted By Kansas City Activist Alvin Sykes Wins In The Senate
A message from Kansas City Civil Rights Activist Alvin Sykes:
"In a historically significant moment . . . The United States Senate passed, by unanimous consent, the Emmett Till Unsolved Civil Rights Crime Re-authorization Act of 2016
"The Senate passed bill,if passed by the House and becomes law, makes permanent the provisions of the original Till Bill in 2007 and removes the 1969 time limit on unsolved racially motivated murders that the FBI and Justice Department can investigate by expanding the authority to include any qualified unsolved murder past or future!! Now it is on to the House in September!!"
The bill had bi-partisan support from Congress members Yoder and McCaskill, Cleaver and Senator Roy Blunt.
