TKC BREAKING NEWS!!! SPATE OF GUNFIRE BLASTS IN KANSAS CITY 18TH & VINE DISTRICT AS CITY HALL CONSIDERS $27 MILLION WORTH OF ADDITIONAL FUNDING!!!
Amid rhetoric from politicos touting $27 MILLION worth of Kansas City 18th & Vine District improvements this week . . . A spate of gunfire from the embattled part of town during the midday.
To wit . . .
THANKS TO KICK-ASS TKC TIPSTERS FOR THESE SHOTS FROM THE 18TH & VINE ENTERTAINMENT DISTRICT AFTER A SPATE OF GUNFIRE DURING BROAD DAYLIGHT JUST NOW!!!!
Remember that the cash proposed this time around is on top of $100 million since the 90s.
In addition to these images, we've got just a bit sound advice and perspective from a denizen of this community who deserves a say . . . One of the great things about this blog community is that we have a chance to to consider the words and perspective along with the news.
Checkit:
1.) All this lavish new money coming into the 18th and Vine district... useless if it's just adding another fountain, a newly painted facade on dead businesses and such. I'd like to see some of that money used to spur the new street car from Main street down 18th into the district to bring tourists, First Friday traffic and the like into the area.
2.) If you do this, then obviously, you need more than three clubs and three restaurants to sustain the environment and/or get a return on any investments made. We need _businesses_ or some other attraction that's WORTH coming into the neighborhood for.
3.) Crime, in a nutshell, MUST come down city-wide... we're bleeding. I'm _from_ here, and after five years in Los Angeles returned for a good job opportunity. I felt safer in Los Angeles, even downtown near Skid Row.

You decide . . .
I only wonder if any of our elected leaders is going to stand up and ask some questions about the security of KC's investment if this place is always getting shot up.
ReplyDeleteIt gets shot up when it's mostly vacant. Imagine what will happen if it were fully occupied.
DeleteDon't worry we already threw away millions on the E-Tax.
ReplyDeleteWe were suppose to get police protection. But Kcpd is the biggest joke in town.
Put millions in a war zone? Great idea! How's that working out for your Sly?
ReplyDeleteI dont know what retard would send their kid to a baseball academy built in Parade Park.
ReplyDelete"Crime, in a nutshell, MUST come down city-wide" Sly and all his economic development cronies should be compelled to write this on the blackboard 1000 times. Throwing huge amounts of money at a high crime area only sends the crime packing to trash another area. While that may benefit the real estate speculators who bought up cheap property overall it harms the city.
ReplyDeleteBut! Wait! There's More!
ReplyDeleteWe just need this LAST $$$27 million piece of the puzzle to make the Jazz District great!
Honestly.
For real.
It's all good!
JUST GIVE ME THE DAMN MONEY.
What would James H Kunstler have to say about all of this?
ReplyDeleteunderscores and hashmarks, your nigger denizen needs a 21st century keyboard.

this illustrates that, without the first function of government in assuring public safety in place, everything else such as amenities looks like an absurd changing of the subject.
ReplyDeleteNaw just keep throwing money at everything like it grows on trees and life will be rainbows, unicorns, and safe spaces!
ReplyDeleteCRIME in KCMO will never go down as long as KCMO has a Degenerate Thug Mayor as the citys Mayor = FACT !!!
ReplyDeleteSly talks a good game of Bullshit, but also as a Typical Liberal Lib'Tard caters & Panders to the very Criminals who are Destroying this city !!!
ReplyDeleteThe KCPD is run by the state not the city.
Lyin Sly is too busy pandering to the homos who celebrated Fag Fest last weekend
ReplyDeleteNausea Rising
ReplyDeleteFound it! Deep State trying to shut down JHK but he soldiers on!
ReplyDelete@3:35pm
ReplyDeleteThe Po,ice Board is composed of residents of KCMO who have been nominated by other officials of KCMO and appointed by the governor.
The mayor of KCMO is, by statute, one of five members of the board.
The KCPD budget is overseen and approved by elected members of the city council of KCMO.
There is a council public safety committee which is mandated the responsibility of overseeing KCPD.
To say the state runs KCPD, which is a very over-used excuse for the electeds' consistent failures in the area of public safety, which, as 3:15pm correctly states, is the most BASIC responsibility of any level of government, is like saying the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs runs the US military.
It's way past time to stop electing amateur real estate developers to the KCMO city council and find some people who actually have some acquaintance and understanding, or at least an interest, in municipal public policy and responsibilities.
Surely in a town of over 464,000 residents, there must be SOMEONE!
Kudos to Fox 4 for being the only media outlet to report this story.
ReplyDeleteSly and Justus smacking each other with dildos to see who gets to waste the most money on glamour projects instead of crime fighting.
ReplyDeleteNeed to open up ownership that can be allowed [ 51% rule ] so anyone can open up a business. Also more parking
ReplyDeletePoor management at the MM Foundation , lost the" Sat Night Jump" show Come in late to set-up for the night
ReplyDeleteWhat the fuck is wrong with this place? Just imagine if there were constant shootings in the plaza every day. Such a waste.
ReplyDeleteSo NO to more money here.
Come on down...!
ReplyDeleteKC just needs more coon attractions. Apparently the Plaza just isn't enough for them.
ReplyDeleteThe city is selling and buying property down there. Gonna be a developers heaven.
ReplyDeleteGuns and butter? Nah, guns and NIGGERS~
