Why???
- Remember that Mr. Callahan was the guy who kicked the KCPS out of Independence and for that his constituents will be forever grateful and now have hope for a brighter future and fully accredited schools. Like it or not, Mr. Callahan's financial support turns heads among the political denizens in this part of Missouri.
- Mr. Callahan has $500K in his campaign war chest and this cash support could not only signal more to come but also offers a cue to fellow Democrats about where to put their bets.
- The other side is spending all their money on noob campaign consultants while Mr. Callahan's cash support usually comes with some important advice and power player phone calls that put the party faithful into line.

Money quote from Kansas City Insiders in support of John Rizzo for State Senate:
"This is a big deal in this race and shows everyone where influential Democrats come down. This signals a lot of different things but mostly that the leading Democrats have made up their mind and would rather have somebody who has legislative experience..."
However, there's still a lot of Summer campaigning left to do . . .
But what this cash move shows us is that MO House Rep. Rizzo has solid support from unions and power players while his Democratic Party challenger is only pushed forward by the likes of JaxCo Legislator Crystal Williams and a few bored and embittered Midtown Kansas City women who think they can tweet their slate of candidates and Hillary Clinton into power.

ReplyDeleteEastern Jackson County has always been a mixed bag and would have to say Callahan is the only one who has been very successful,so I think this an important endorsement. I am still making up my mind but Senator Callahan did a very good job.
