TKC BREAKING AND EXCLUSIVE NEWS!!! BLOG COMMUNITY INSIDER REVEALS SPATE OF KANSAS CITY MURDERS NEAR NEWLY BUILT EAST PATROL COMMUNITY FACILITY!!!

A quick note from our blog community inspired a bit of checking and a confirmation of a tragic fact and perspective about the Kansas City homicide count which stands near a 5-year-high for this date on the calendar.

To wit . . .

TKC BLOG COMMUNITY EXCLUSIVE: KANSAS CITY INSIDER CONFIRMS SPATE OF MURDERS NEAR NEWLY BUILT EAST PATROL!!!

Here's the word . . .

"This may be murder number 48 but it's number 11 as far as violent death incidents near or around the new East Patrol. TKC, that's the real story here."

Two perspectives on this . . .

To be fair, the rise in crime near the police station/community center is part of an overall upward violence trend in KCMO and throughout the nation. At least the police station is better positioned to confront the violent uptick.

On the other hand . . .

The crime spike near East Patrol once again reminds us that over budget and highly touted development doesn't immediately pay off and might not be the only factor in producing a desired result.

The stakes are high in this talk about crime but the consideration of reality vs. expectations for developments championed by City Hall applies throughout the metro.

You decide . . .

  1. You second point here is the one that deserves more consideration. Better to have this resource here than not.

This isn't the area that they once called the "murder factory" but it's not far away.

What should be considered is far more simple: Why did we start this year taking cops off the street and what are we doing about that now that crime is increasing?

    ReplyDelete
  2. last year around this time Mayor sly james increased his security. Too bad KCMO can't do the same for our streets under the current threat.

  3. whatever it takes to clear the area of hoodrats

  4. Accountability? What's that? An anomaly on the Eastside of town, that's what that is. Politicians don't ever have to be accountable as long as White people think of the area as other. Anything goes.

A very smart lady once asked White people (she's also White):

"How many White people in the room would want to be treated the way Black people are treated in the United States? Just raise your hand if you would be happy to have the experiences that Black people are dealt in America."

Nobody raised their hand. She said, "That tells me that you know it's wrong, you don't want it for you but you're perfectly fine allowing it to be done to others." This is the real problem.

White people should change their perspective, demand accountability equally and equitably. Don't come in making demands, judgments or rules on people who aren't in the same situation. It is absolutely a death sentence in quality of life, job or career growth, transportation, access, etc., to live on the Eastside of town.

My house has been broken into five times and I live near the new East Patrol. I stopped calling the police because they're not helpful, never here from them after the incident, takes them hours to get to you, even just driving around the corner. It's a wretched experience and I'm educated. Imagine what poor people live through.

  5. 7:29... what do you expect when staffing numbers are cut down. do you expect your mcdonalds to be prepared better, faster, and with a smile when half the employees are gone?

    ReplyDelete

    1. Half the employees aren't gone. This isn't about McDonald's or judge mental comments, it's about real life and it's not my problem if they're having a staffing problem. That speaks to poor management not to policing. KCPD has had substantial excesses since at least 2011. What they did with the money? Who knows but they need to get their shit together and stop making excuses on why they can't, won't and don't get their job done. In all other professions poor performance means you won't have a job. As a politician or KCPD, that just means you'll be guaranteed reelection and/or promotion.

  6. Anyone who in any way equates building a police station with "economic development" must have "graduated" from KCPS.
7:29 is right. When the police get zero cooperation from east side residents and are constantly accused of one thing or another about "activists" and nonprofit clowns who are funded by the taxpayers, and there's no leadership from either elected officials or east side leaders to change the dynamic, you're stuck with the sound of one hand clapping.
And solid folks like 7:29am and hundreds of others like them will continue to leave that part of town.
Building subsidized "projects" does NOTHING to change anything.
And it won't get anything but worse without some serious cooperation and intervention.
It's called city government and it's too bad KCMO doesn't really have one.

    ReplyDelete
  7. Real crimes were committed in the paying out of City cash- bribes to so called c, community leaders, former Mayor's friends, people Troy wanted to generate support for his continued service as City Manager. Bribes to people needed to publicly support tax increases. Bribes to people to sell out the poor East side residents and and neutralize the resident opposition to the massive relocation effort. Bribery and pay-offs ----the art of City of KC deals!

  8. 7:29, maybe the response would have been different if the smart white lady had listed some of the ways that black people are treated differently than similarly educated white people: preferential admission to colleges, better access to grants and scholarships, employment and promotion advantages, benefits from numerous government programs at all levels, Obamaphones and last but not least free pizza and midnight basketball. I wish I'd been in the room when the smart white lady asked that question - we'd soon see how smart she really is.

  11. Nice stats, do you have any that show where these new, rather young offenders are originally from or have migrated from? They are bringing their criminal knowledge learned in the system and regurgitating it in some morphed crime wave. This reckless lawlessness and civil disrespect for life itself is out of control and brought to a reality check. Take some of these tough youths to a morgue and let them see the consequences of arsenal and gang violence.

  13. Have KC residents been over taken by individuals from other states? They've moved here bringing their violence. Anyone check that? That new wave of migration? That increase?

    ReplyDelete
  14. Of course it's higher near police facilities. Inside police facilities there are never usually many police officers because they're all out on patrol. The only time a police facility has a number of police officers is during shift change.

  15. If you want to think streetwise, East coast or West coast would want to muscle in on drug trade here. So the fight begins. Not our world, but theirs on down the chain for scraps of cash in the real street drug world and there is a serious drug problem in this town that no one talks about that is very real. Rob to get that fix or next high. Junkies in and out of the system, halfway house. Murders? In what vicinity to halfway houses? Are you asking the right questions instead of pointing fingers?

  18. 10:09 What are the police patrolling? Oh, that's right. East Patrol was built in Central Patrol boundaries. Therefore, they are never anywhere near their patrol station. Make all the excuses you want but facts are facts, violence has increased tenfold in the area where politicians claimed it would make the area safer if it was built there. We all knew and know now that was a boldface LIE.

  19. So what you are saying is old fashion hard boring foot work is not cool and not done cause it is boring. Not everything is put on YouTube or Twitter. It is boring work. Paperwork. Research. Fact checking. I believe there is more to them than that. They are good people. A fire needs to be put in their bellies. The will is there. Ferguson effect will not deter a trained officer. Do not belittle them. They put their lives on the line everyday. Never talk down to them. It would never happen here. Be proud of that. Feel safe.

  20. Here is the truth no one wants to admit, especially those cretins belonging to Black Lives Matter.

The recent increase in homicides is a categorical, straight line response to the antipathy in black communities for the police.

It's a great read if you are interested in the truth. If not, return to your usual conversations about "White Privilege", "Industrial Racism" and the threat of the KKK behind every bush.

8:16 DEAD ON THE MONEY, although you neglected to mention the thousands of pieces of legislation, set asides, court verdicts and the ocean of preferential treatment for blacks, who could care less and expect the world delivered to their indolent asses on their doorsteps.

    ReplyDelete
  21. White people live on the Eastside too. So do Hispanics, Asians and other people. Stop trying to justify your racism. It's okay to be wrong, just learn from it.

  22. Back to the drug houses in the neighborhoods... One house can destroy blocks. Intimidate neighbors, good tax paying families. Yes, police will contain it I that area. They are told to by politicians. Then it spreads and get messy and dirty and loud. Bang, bang! Balloons, candles, cameras, texts, you get me? Drugs.

    ReplyDelete
  23. 10:59

Don't forget, that those thousands of instances of preferential treatment are law, with no expiration dates.

Your grandchildren's grandchildren will STILL be forced by the MEDIA and lickspittle politicians to buy into the lies that leave tax payers shouldering the insane and Sisyphean task of "Equal Outcomes" for those who hate the very folks supporting them.

Caucasians make up .08% of the world's population.

In an ever increasing number of cities (Detroit, East St. Louis, Memphis etc. etc. etc.) states and nations, the vitriol, hatred and murderous intent of the majorities in those same places, seek the extermination of whites.

    Period.

Life in South Africa, Zimbabwe, Detroit, 27th and Bales or ANY place where Liberal, Progressive Agitprop is the "Narrative" that drives the Zeitgeist, whites are targets, literally and metaphorically.

It's not just America that hates you white boy, it is the world.

It's time to move on from the endless self flagellation required by Politically Correct, elitists who control our future and money by way of Irredentist, Illegal Immigrants and the "Hope and Change" wrought by Fascist, Progressive Ideologues in the Democrat party.

These killers in the streets, "Given room to destroy" don't have their fucking "Hands Up" and never fucking did have their "Hands Up". They have their hands full of ordnance and they are the de facto enforcement arm of the Democrat Party. The benefits of slight and superficial constraint on populations shielding this criminality is obvious, when there is ANY opportunity to riot, rape and murder in the name of the latest thug de jour, shot down on his way to choir practice after helping an old lady across the street.

Democrats need to EXCITE THE BASE in order to achieve power and money.

Those thugs today, are tomorrow's martyrs in the legerdemain that is the Democrat, Statist, Fascist beast that rules over us all now.

The little old ladies in the neighborhood with their coffee cans of water and bleach. Brooms sweeping the carnage. They roll up the old bed sheet left on the ground cause the cops left that body laying there flowing for the neighborhood children to see and they do see. No glory. If you lived in a war zone you get use to it. One shouldn't have to get used to it....
