Taxpayer Subsidized City Hall Grocery Store Could Save Kansas City East Side???

From the get-go the math doesn't work on this highly touted project to fight a food desert that may or may not exist . . . In fairness, let's look at both sides of the issue with this optimistic take on the proposed development . . . Linwood Shopping Center reopening could generate new investment, hope on Kansas City's East Side

Nothing will save the Eastside. Developers developing for the sake of money laundering and keeping their otherwise unemployable friends and family members working on the taxpayer's dime. Swope Parkway Health Center and Shoppes was supposed to save the Eastside. It hasn't. 71 Highway was supposed to save the Eastside. It hasn't. A new Samuel Rogers Health Center was supposed to save the Eastside. It hasn't. Linwood Shopping Center back in the 80's was supposed to save the Eastside. It hasn't. Not only has it not saved the eastside but its been a vacant eyesore for at least a decade. It was foreclosed by the very person spearheading its revitalization. Not that something doesn't need to be done but repeating the same mistakes expecting the same result. Lipstick on a pig is still a pig. And with some much murder and violence going on at the intersection of East 31st Street and Prospect, I don't know who in their right mind would ever want to shop there.

  3. Bullshit! Just look at the 18th & Vine money pit. Taxpayer money lining shysters and grifters pockets.

  4. This is a really good idea and a life saver for retailers all over the metro who are tired of coons shoplifting.

  5. I'm guessing Dean and DeLuca or Hen House? Lol
But seriously, what about the African Aldi that opened there a year or two ago? I thought that was solving the food desert issue.
