Another reminder that the Summer season of murder and gunfire continues in Kansas City despite some earnest efforts to stop the bloodshed and the so-far silent Citizens Task Force On Violence that the public has now mostly forgotten amid an early in the year spate of violence.

KCPD CHIEF: @kcpolice investigating homicide 60th and Blue Hills. Will update upon arrival to scene.
Fox4KC: Kansas City police dispatchers tell FOX 4 the shooting happened in the area of the 6000 block of Blue Hills Road.
KSHB: Police said the shooting happened on 59th and Blue Hills near The Paseo.
Again, that's 40 murders compared to 33 at this time last year which was a 36% increase over the year before that . . . Currently, KCMO is approaching a 5 year high for homicides.
