DISGRACE!!! RAMPANT CRIME EARNS KANSAS CITY TOP RANKING AMONG THE WORST CITES IN THE UNITED STATES!!!

Not so long ago Kansas City was awash in praise as Internets marketers were writing up a ton of promotional copy during an election year that offered a cheerleader's perspective of life in this cowtown.

Now . . .

The bloody Summer of 2016 threatens so much hype regarding local progress.

To wit . . .

KANSAS CITY EARNS A TRAGIC RANKING AS ONE OF THE WORST CITIES IN THE NATION THANKS TO RISING CRIME!!!

Checkit:

24/7 Wall Street: 50 Worst Cities to Live In

Here's a snippet of text from the ranking that shows a more realistic view of this town than what City Hall or the newspaper are prepared to offer:

"While higher educational attainment often accompanies higher incomes and lower crime rates in many U.S. cities, Kansas City is an exception. Nearly 32% of adults in Kansas City have a bachelor’s degree, a slightly higher share than the national 30% college attainment rate. Despite a more educated population, the typical Kansas City household earns only $44,173 a year, roughly $9,500 less than the typical American household. However, lower incomes are offset by a lower cost of living. Goods and services are about 5% cheaper in Kansas City than they are on average across the United States.

Crime is a major detriment to quality of life in Kansas City. There are 1,251 violent crimes a year for every 100,000 people in the area, a higher violent crime rate than those in only a couple dozen other U.S. cities."

Now, there's a myth that crime only impacts one segment or neighborhood but the reality is that violence has spread to the suburbs as well and the entire metro area has suffered in a spate of violence that might have started in the urban core but continues to spread.

You decide . . .

  1. Seems like those income projections are a bit low.

With that kind of average to low earning power, you wouldn't think there would be so many people acting like millionaires in KC.

I guess it's not just city hall that lives on credit but also the people who frequent the p&l district.

  2. Congratulations Mayor Sly!! Your competence and effectiveness shine through.

  3. Another streetcar should fix all this!

It has worked so far, right?

    ReplyDelete
  4. Doing the math per 100,000 and KC's violence is nearly comparable with Chicago per capita.

    ReplyDelete
  5. And all the Mayor does is hand out tif’s to rich developers and push a streetcar that no one wants.

    ReplyDelete
  6. But, but, but... we have a STREETCAR! How could they be so mean to us?

What about worst city simply because it's the worst city. I hate this city but was born here. I should have left a long time ago.

  14. Will this affect the 50 gazzilion tourist we have each year.

  15. That can't be true? Why .... we built a new Police Academy, New Patrol cars, New Patrol Stations, we passed the E-Tax, We bought a new Helicopter, we elected a black Mayor and a black Police Chief, we are State and not city run to avoid corruption, we paid for a new 911 call center....... naw there's no high crime rate. We did everything the City and Police department asked as Taxpayers. Or better yet can we just get a refund? Why should we put up with such poor service?

  16. The violence is done by the Nay Sayers against the airport and extending the Toot Toot. Those against more booze in more places. C. A. V. E. are upsetting people so they do crime and assaults.
Too bad the stats on the TIF - Private Investment ratio, and the tax - income ratios were not provided for this review.

  17. Wonder if there's any way for you guys to escape? Did you already build that goofy assed wall or something but in the wrong place because the average Republican is too stupid to identify Mexico on a map?

Maybe you could float away on the river of your tears. We sure as fuck don't need you, people keep moving here and most of us love it.

    1. So your strategy is to...ignore the obvious and growing problems in your city. Brilliant! Are you a MENSA member by chance?

    2. Oh, and to blame Republicans. For everything. Surely, this is a genius talking.

  18. This is really so sad. This didn't have to happen, but when you have a significant segment of the population that doesn't care about education, going to work every day, how they look, how they act, or really give a damn about their community, this is the outcome. Until this mindset changes this is how we will be forced to live. It's nonsense.

  19. My theory: provide education, transportation, parks & tech in poorest neighborhoods, then crime drops, private investment & diversity thrive. KC makes headlines for reforming failing urban school district, becoming a safe place to raise a family, while maintaining affordable living costs. DOWNTOWN DEVELOPS ITSELF WITHOUT TIF AND PRIVAYE INVESTOTS BUILD THEIR OWN STREETCAR. Everyone wins.

  21. Seriously Bryan, you seem like the decent enough guy but "provide education in poorest neighborhoods?" No schools in America has had more money thrown at it than the Kansas City School District, literally no other district. And no other district has wasted more money and got some little return on investment. There is a certain demographic that drags everything down and makes everything look worse than it really is. Why invest in education for people who don't want to be educated? Generation after generation dropping out of school to have kids at 15 years old that couldn't care less about education. The other stats are misleading in that just across the state line is a highly educated population with millions in disposable income.

    ReplyDelete
  22. The problem is way bigger than money.

When there isn't a family unit, with mother/ father, teaching you right/wrong and respect for yourself & others you're not going to value anything. (Not school, parks, property... nothing)

Money & income is an excuse so there's no responsibility with their actions.

  23. Sly should be proud. Here he is the top dog in the national coon mayor association and his city is a crime ridden shit hole.

  24. 5:12

    +1

Mr. Stadler, those are anything but new and innovative ideas. Cities across America are drowning in the detritus and crushed under the wreckage of "Don't it feel good" liberal programs which tossed metric fuck tons of cash at inner city problems like education, infrastructure et al. 5:12 is dead on the money. Here in KC, 5 BILLION DOLLARS (1990's Dollars) were tossed down the racial grievance well to "Even the playing field" in KC Education.

    http://object.cato.org/sites/cato.org/files/pubs/pdf/pa-298.pdf

    This was an unqualified disaster.

The African American sub-culture, violent, indolent and self-destructive, glorified and lionized by the Main Stream Media, Hollywood and a highly politicized Federal Government is the problem.

The solution is force of arms and strict enforcement of the Rule Of Law. This will never happen in a society so afraid of the RACIST Scarlet Letter.

So, it will continue, unabated and dysfunction will be the order of the day. That said, pouring more cash into ill advised paradigms with a history of proven failure, is gas on the fire and only encourages more dysgenic, dysfunction and hatred for the very folks paying for the idiocy.

There are no more "hearts and minds" to win from blacks on the left. They fuckin hate America and they hate whitey. You too. There are exceptions, but repeated verification = justifiable stereotype.

  25. Actually the average salary of most people is around $28,000 dollars.

Not $44,000, or $10,000 a month like Sly rakes in, and the $5000 a month our part time city council people rake in.

    ReplyDelete
  26. 5:59, average or median? The latter would give a truer picture.

  27. this is a horrible and what's worse is that we think that holding hands and having a vigil is going to stop it.

You want to bring down crime? Fully fund the police.

    End of story!

  28. They threw money at the KC School Districts and the crook board members took it. Kinda like the crook Superintendent in Lee's Scummit. Either case, the kids never had a chance.

    Greed knows no political partisanship
